Possible Faster-Than-Light Particle of the Day - TDW Geeks



They shot a particle out of this thing that looks like Vegnagun and it supposedly cleared speeds faster than that of light (although they dont tell us the speed, just the time it reached its destination). It also did this with little margin for error unlike last times attempt. All the information can be found in the article.

If Einsteins theory is flawed, then what could this mean?

I would say that neutrinos are particularly wonky little particles. One never knows what they'll do or why. They can pass through a planet and not particularly slow down.

These findings are a little too fantastic, particularly seeing they seem to contradict the body of evidence. I suspect false readings, but then I can't claim to know. I don't foresee it proving false the theory of relativity, I assure you, even if it's true. It'll change it perhaps, drastically. I won't say much more, spoilers.

I think that maybe the neutrinos were moving at a speed fast enough to distort our instruments measures, and the strange reading lead the scientists to guess that it was going faster than the speed of light.
However, if the finding is correct, it'd be interesting to see where science goes next with rewriting Einsteins law.
If we're going on the theory of relativity, shouldn't that little particle have had some impact on the other forces within proximity of it? Or was the machine designed to prevent such a reaction? Ironic how they may have destroyed the theory of relativity, but protected against it at the same time if that is the case.

Ive been doing a little reading up on this theory. A guy gave an example with light, it was a VERY LONG example. But this is what he seems to have been trying to say:

Rays from the sun fire forth at the speed of light ofc.
If someone was moving at a high speed away from the sun the suns rays would pass them at speed X.
If someone was staying the same distance away from the sun at all times the suns rays would also pass them at the same speed of X.
Therefore distance + time are one. The speed of light is the fastest something can go.

Am I on the right lines here or is what that guy posted just bull?

Physics is so incredibly fascinating! I’m looking forward to see if this crazy result will be confirmed, but I personally think the experiment itself is wrong, just maintaining a healthy level of scepticism, it could be like the anomaly that appeared at the Tevatron some time ago, but ended up being nothing.

What I don’t understand is the ridiculous bashing going towards these scientists.
