And a bunch of composers from video games. So many. Nathan McCree, Normand Corbeil, Hans Zimmer, Nobuo Uematsu, Jason Graves, Jermey Soule, Marcin Przyby, Miko Stroinski and loads of various artists.
Mine are all over the place, and depend on my mood or what I'm doing.
In general, some of my all time favorites are Foo Fighters, Clutch, Drive by Truckers, Lucero, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Johnny Cash to name a few. I get in moods where I get really into one band or style. I recently found a country station in my city on fm radio. Awesome!
My ipod is really a scary place for everyone buy me. You might go from "Sympathy For The Devil" to "Call Me Maybe" to "Everlong" to the "Ruff Ryders Anthem" to "Pink Houses" to "Shake It Out" to "Blood Brothers" to "Once In A Lifetime".
My music tastes have absolutely evolved as I've grown. I grew up on my parents music, lots of 50s and 60s stuff on the oldies station. Grew into punk, typical mtv rock and then slowly metal.
In college, I was all about metal, especially stuff from the 80s. Come my senior year of college, I'd spent enough time upstate to embrace the wackiness of the "country", and kind of fell in love with it.
To this day, if I put some Ryan Bingham on and pack a lip, I can go to the driving range and hit balls dead on
Bring me the Horizon
Jamiroquai
Red hot chili Peppers

Seriously, if you think Nashville is all goofy country hat acts...
Uh...uh...don't listen to this alone. :| Or on really exotic or expensive drugs...just uh, pour a drink and maybe smoke a cigarette.
These guys rock so hard and play such a mind game with their listeners that you really ought to be warned...and they're from rightcheer.
It is not easy to name all my favorite bands.
I'll try to do the list of musicians and bands that I can listen to over and over again:
The Raconteurs
Jack White
Slipknot
Tom Waits
Godspeed you! Black Emperor
Mogwai
Slint
AC/DC
Of the wand and the moon
Empyrium
Gustavo Santaolalla
Pretend
Invalids
Hans Zimmer
The genres of these bands are very different. I am big fan of post-rock and math rock music.
