Lately I have grown very much in love with a lot of new age DnB and dubstep even a little bit of chillstep to keep things interesting with a bit of female vocals to make things a bit smexy.

What century do you like you bass from?

I'm pretty big into the dnb scene and am constantly on the lookout for new stuff that is created. And then when Brett needs new music to listen to, he asks me "brobro can you hook me up bro" and I deliver the goods.

This thread's been dead for awhile but I didn't see it when it was alive so I'm posting here anyway and the mods can get over it.

I love almost every kind of Bassy music out there. I guess if it's played at a Rave I probably listen to it.

My recent favorites come from a band called 1200 Micrograms. It's really hard to classify but it's some kind of Psy-trance. Like if you took the Acid Rock culture of the 60's and mixed it with todays DnB music. It's some heavy shit and goes very hard in the paint.

I also like Basshunter, Scooter, and anything Nightcore.

I play bass, so of course when I'm listening to music, I listen for the bass. Some of my favorite bands are bands that utilize a lot of bass. Paul McCartney utilized fantastic bass melodies with The Beatles. My favorite one from them is Hello Goodbye, and there is no logical reason behind that. It's not their best song. I just love the bass melody.

Then there's the king of bass, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. There's nothing more powerful than the bass gallop he utilizes in song writing.

I don't like DnB, dub step, or any of that crap, because too much bass isn't a good thing. If it has no melody, and if you can't hear anything besides loud annoying bass, then it's not a song, it's just noise. That's why clubs are stupid. I mean, I guess since everybody in the club is on ecstasy, they aren't really paying attention to the music. They're just dancing shirtless with glow sticks getting fondled by dudes wearing diapers, but that kind of stuff is just noise to people who are sober, like me.

Also, I'm a musician, so I appreciate musicianship. That may be where some of my cynicism comes from.

I've always enjoyed electronica, but I really started to get into "bass-heavy" music when I read somewhere about how listening to certain frequencies can help with dopamine production. I'd cite the source, but I honestly don't remember.

I like dubstep and some D&B. I think the first place I heard D&B music was Sonic Adventure 2. Great music in that game, by the way.
