    Favorite final fantasy score

What was everyone's personal favorite music score from a final fantasy game?

my top 4 are in order

    1. final fantasy tactics: Reason for this is the music made me feel the emotion in the characters and the plot it was a great soundtrack.

    2. final fantasy iv: nostalgia in its finest for me I played 2 for the super Nintendo which made me grow on the game as a whole and I honestly think that the whole build up and order of the music was great. the one in this game that caught me was Troian Beauty I believe its what its called its was one of the most beautiful things I heard

3:final fantasy vi: Great build up as with the other instrumentals were beautiful and the favorite out of this one was dancing mads 4 part orchestration very beautiful

    4. final fantasy xiii: it gave me a new feel to the series music very smooth very modern type music to me my favorite here was snows theme reason being because im into rock and it gave the pumped up rock feeling

let me know what you guys think

I didn't play 2 out of 3 of those so I don't know about IX or VII but the other two had great scores too

I strongly reccomend you play VII.

like, make it the top priority on your list of things to do.

    Hmmm, I would say

    6, 7, 8, 9, in that order.

But if you want the best music of that era, look into Chrono Cross

There's nothing wrong with chrono cross. Its better than a good chunk of FF games, in my opinion

Final Fantasy IX, closely followed by Crisis Core and Final Fantasy VIII. Perhaps it's nostalgia seeing as it's the first Final Fantasy I ever played, but I can't get IX's score out of my head, it's just so god damn memorable. "A Place to Return to Someday", "Rose of May", "Hunter's Chance", "Melodies of Life", "Terra"... just a few truly amazing tracks, I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Crisis Core came as such as pleasant surprise, as far as its score goes it kept everything good VII has to offer and added ton more.

Forget what Rowan just said, IX should be your top priority, and I second what Pete said about Chrono Cross being better than most FF games.

That's because the game isn't a straight line, it's very sporatic and easy to get lost in the game because you're traversing between 2 different worlds. I know Gamespot gave it a 10/10. It's music is amazing and the game makes you think a lot about specific things. I'd rather play it than Trigger sometimes.

I understand that. People tend to get lost and either get mad or hate the game. Me personally ill play it whether I get lost or not it just makes me want to get better and strive to beat the game.

I think my favorite thing about cross is that you can replay it a few times and still find new things to do and aspects of the story.

I like the way this guy thinks.

I actually started a new playthrough of IX last night. Soundtrack is wonderful, but i have to say that there are more forgettable tracks in that FF than there are in others, but thats a strict comparison because even still the majority of the soundtrack is beautiful.

Also, im doing a playthrough of ff9 to get to the green dragon area at gizamulkes grotto, I want to see if I can finally kill and farm them that early in the game. My goal is to level garnet up high enough to use her summons when you technically shouldnt be able too.

Also, fishermans horizon cover frmo FF8 (including added vocals)

Felt compelled to share this. She has a beautiful voice.
