My personal disdain for Final Fantasy X is fairly famous, but those of you who know me already know that. However, I will say this: there's a silver lining in every storm.
That silver lining? The soundtrack. I love just about everything about this game's soundtrack. And that's no small praise, either! FFX was the first game to not be completely scored by the great Nobuo Uematsu (a.k.a He-who-can-do-no-wrong). He did write this piece, however. Even when the game's inherent badness (opinion) caused my indiscriminate madness (self-diagnosis), I could turn on the ol' Winamp and listen to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack without a care in the world.
TPR over at YouTube is one of my favorite subscriptions. His version of "Calm Before The Storm" (or Silence Before The Storm) that plays in the Kilika and Macalania Woods can be found at the above YouTube link or as part of A Fleeting Dream: A Melancholy Tribute to Final Fantasy X, a fantastic re-imagining of part of the game's soundtrack. It definitely calms my nerves.
