Ok, so many of you should be familiar with this title as its spanned many series over the years. Who in this forum is a fan of the series? I got into it because of my brother-in-law's love for the series.
I really got into it once I actually sat down and watched Transformers Prime (which is the more recent tv series). I also ask you all this, what series should I look into? and which ones should I stay away from?
I plan to watch the original 1984 series on netflix (hopefully if it still there when I do). After that, I'd like to look into it even more when I can.

I have a limited edition collectors tin of the original series, as soon as I saw it I begged my partner to get it for me. I haven't watched it all though I lack the time and patience with my kids to be able to sit down and watch it.
Beast wars was something different I didn,t mind that when I was younger I don't know if I would go out of my way to get it now though.

I'm a pretty big fan of the franchise. As a kid I grew up with the original cartoon via reruns and then Beast Wars a few years later and then Cybertron a few years after that. I've seen about 5 or 6 episodes of Prime on Youtube as I don't have Sky and it looks like a pretty good series.
As for ones you should look into, I'd definitley say Beats Wars. It's been recognised as one of the best cartoons, having a pretty solid script and voice acting , somehting you don't always get with this kind of thing and the CGI is pretty amazing even by today's standards.
Amarda and Energon are quite bad, on the other hand. They both suffer from pretty terrible dubbing and large amounts of stock footage and the CGI's pretty bad meaning the only emotion they show is 'mouth open, mouth closed'. Cybertron gets somewhat better as well as concluding the 'Unicron Trilogy' that is Armarda, Energon and Cybertron.
You should definatly get around to watching the 80's cartoon but be warned that the second season is over 50 episodes long and will take a long time to get through. There's also a movie from 1986 which bridges the gap between season two and three. Hopefully this will help you, it'd be awesome if there was someone else around here to talk about this kind of stuff.

I own all the seasons of the original Transformers and it's movie... I remember when I was child in the movie theater and the dad in the movie yelled the word "shit" good times. Also the intro song to the movie is pretty epic.
I watched a couple episodes of beastwars and couldn't get into it.. maybe I'll have to try again later.
I have no clue which other series of Transformers are good. I am an absolute fan of the original though.
