FFXIV Phase 3 Beta Hits Million Users

Square Enix revealed today that they hit a million registered users for their beta. As many know they were handing out a lot of beta codes last week and it is clear that people took advance of it appearing in the beta in droves. While the beta numbers is not indicative of the number of users the final game will have, it is a good sign for a game that was largely panned by the critics and fans.

Nice, I guess people liked what they were seeing and hearing, so they just had to give a try. And I do believe most, if not, all the beta testers enjoyed the game. Yeah, there are still some technical issues, but it is still a pretty damn good game. Kudos to Square Enix for re-designing it(I actually don't know what was wrong with the original game...XD).

Well this is a nice turn-around for Square and FFXIV, I think. I'm not too usre how many people played XIV before the reboot so it would be nice to see a comparison once the finished game is released.

But what I've been hearing from you guys is pretty positive so I might pick up a copy of the actual game once I get a ps3/good computer/decent internet.

1.0 was garbage. 2.0 is better.

Towards the end after they have fixed some of the problems in general such as making the crafting system more forgiving (ie not having 2 steps to make a stupid sword). But what was the biggest issue to me was the HUGE server lag which perhaps with servers in the US this will solve this problem... I haven't had an opportunity to test the lag in beta so no clue if they fixed it.

if you are referring to the massive lag problem in 1.0, yeah they fixed that. here in the nw states i have had no problems remotely close to what was in 1.0, i dunno though about elsewhere.
