Question about changing jobs?

Noob question...

I've heard that you can select multiple jobs as the same character, now does that mean I can level a white mage to level25, and then change it to a red mage, level to say 15, and then go right back to my level 25 white mage? Or do I have to restart the white mage part back at 1?

Also how do you change jobs? Does it cost gil or is there just an NPC I talk to somewhere in game?

When you reach level18 you get a quest to collect some items. Once you turn it in you gain Sub Job. Sub Job is a Maximum level of half of your current Main Job. So if you level your said WhiteMage to level25 and switch to Red Mage. Your Main Job is Red Mage when your Red Mage hits level4, your Sub Job of White Mage will be level2. So you can then level your Red Mage to 50 and not have to worry about your White Mage Sub Job till then.

To change jobs you go to your Mog House.

not sure if this should be a seperate thread or not... but what is Tetra Master? O.o all it seems to do when I click on it is launch the POL and it installed along with FFXI.
