The following categories have been added under Authorization in the Free Company interface.

    Aetherial Wheel Use

    Retainer Dispatchment

In accordance with this change, the layouts of the Rank and Authorization windows have been adjusted.

The following category has been removed from Authorization in the Free Company interface:

    Guestbook management

Fertilizing crops in the garden of your free company estate will no longer result in a message being posted in the Activity window of the Free Company interface. This change has been made to reduce the amount of gardening related messages displayed in this window.

    Housing

Aetherial wheels have been added, which can convert stored energy into company actions.

Free companies can now charge aetherial wheels on estate grounds. These wheels accumulate aether over time, which can be used to acquire company actions without the use of company credits.

In order to charge aetherial wheels, free companies must first obtain an aetherial wheel stand, which can be purchased from housing merchants in any residential district.

The aetherial wheels themselves can be crafted using alchemy.

How to Use an Aetherial Wheel
    1. Place an aetherial wheel stand in your free company estate.

    2. Set your desired aetherial wheel on the aetherial wheel stand, and leave it to accumulate aether over a fixed period of time.

    3. Once it is fully charged, the primed aetherial wheel may be removed from the stand.

    4. Accessing the aetherial wheel stand again will give you the option to convert the primed aetherial wheel into company actions.

    5. After converting the primed aetherial wheel, the corresponding actions will become available immediately.

Retainers can now be placed on estate grounds outside the hall.

An expansion of duties permit is required to place a retainer on your estate grounds outside the hall. These permits can be purchased from independent sutlers in any residential district.

One, two, or three retainers can be placed on small, medium, and large estates respectively.

Once a retainer is placed on estate grounds, items that they currently have listed for sale on the market can be purchased by anyone who speaks with them. The retainer's sales history (up to 20 entries) can also be viewed by other players.

Placing retainers on estate grounds does not impact your ability to summon them via summoning bells to deposit and withdraw items, or to assign retainer ventures.

The position of the targeting arrow that appears when the chocobo stable is selected has been moved to the sign post to improve visibility.

Selecting a culinarian furnishing will display a dialog prompt to confirm the parameter bonuses to be received.

Attempting to feed a Thavnairian onion to a stabled chocobo will display a dialog prompt in the event the chocobo will not increase in rank.

New aesthetician hairstyles have been added.

    Requirements
    Time Limit 15 minutes
Level Requirement Disciple of War or Magic level 50
Item Level Sync Item level 80

The Say, Shout, Yell, Party, and Allliance chat channels can be used during Frontline. However, players can only see messages from comrades of their own Grand Company.

    * When undertaking a duty utilizing item level sync, the item level of any gear exceeding the maximum item level will be adjusted accordingly. Unlike character level sync, however, gear parameters will not be subject to further reduction beyond that brought about by the item level decrease. Furthermore, materia bonuses will be ignored during PvP encounters, regardless of the item level of gear affixed with materia.
    * Players who abandon a Frontline campaign (not including players who join a match in progress or are vote kicked) will receive a penalty. Players so penalized will be unable to register for Frontline campaigns or the Wolves' Den for 30 minutes.
    * When participating in a Frontline campaign, players can receive but not send messages via free company and linkshell chat.

Participating in the Borderland Ruins (Slaughter)
Players can queue to enter Frontline campaigns alone, or in a party of up to eight players. Although there are no role restrictions when queuing as a party, all party members must be affiliated with the same Grand Company.

To improve matching efficiency, 72 (three teams of 24) or 24 (three teams of eight) combatants may be matched together depending on the number of available participants.

    Role Requirements
When participating in Frontline campaigns, there are no role requirements or restrictions for parties. Moreover, players can freely change jobs or classes at their Grand Company's landing.
    * As with the three main cities, the recast time of skills will not be reset when changing classes or jobs.

    Actions
The effects of certain non-PvP player actions have been restricted in Frontline campaigns.

    Rules of Engagement
Players can increase their team's tactical rating by defeating players from opposing teams and enemies spawning on the field. The first team to accumulate the required number of tactical points will be declared the winner, and the remaining teams ranked according to their respective tactical ratings.

    Teleporters
Teleporters have been placed at key locations, allowing players to cross great distances instantaneously. Please be aware teleporters cannot be used to return to a previous location.

    Adrenaline Rush
Adrenaline rush will replace the limit break action in the Borderland Ruins (Slaughter). Unlike the limit break, adrenaline rush is unaffected by the actions of party members, and can be used by single players after filling the adrenaline gauge. It can then be activated using Limit Break located under the General tab of the Actions & Traits interface. The adrenaline rush action performed will depend on your role.

    Action Role Effect
Aegis Boon Tank Temporarily reduces damage taken by all party members by 50%.
Raw Destruction Melee DPS Delivers an attack to a single target.
Cometeor Ranged Magic DPS Deals unaspected damage to all enemies near point of impact.
    Empyrean Rain Healer
    Ranged Physical DPS
Restores 50% of own HP and the HP of all nearby party members, as well as cure all status effects.

Combat rank bonuses will now affect the rate at which the adrenaline gauge fills.

    Rank Bonus to Adrenaline
    1st None
    2nd Fills 1.25 times faster
    3rd Fills 1.5 times faster

    Battle High and Battle Fever
Battle High and Battle Fever are buffs awarded for a certain number of consecutive KOs. However, changing classes, logging out, or being defeated yourself will reset the counter towards acquiring either buff.
Players who defeat another player under the effect of battle high or battle fever will be rewarded additional Wolf Marks.

    Status Requirement Effect
Battle High Defeat four players consecutively. Damage dealt increases by 20%, and the adrenaline gauge fills 1.5 times faster.
Battle Fever Defeat eight players consecutively. Damage dealt increases by 40%, and the adrenaline gauge fills two times faster.

The following will display on screen when either battle high or battle fever are active:

The following icon will appear next to the name of players under the effect of battle high or battle fever:

Furthermore, players from opposing teams experiencing battle high or battle fever will appear on the map and minimap when nearby.

    Defeating Monsters
Monsters will appear on the field periodically. Slaying them will grant you stat and adrenaline gauge bonuses. The bonus granted will vary depending on the monster slain.

    Status Affected Player Effect
Haste The party that defeats the monster. Reduces weaponskill and spell recast times, as well as auto-attack delay by 20%.
HP Boost and MP Boost The party that defeats the monster. Increases maximum HP and MP by 20%.
Increased Damage The team that deals the most damage. Damage dealt is increased by 10%.

Additionally, tactical points will be awarded to all teams based upon the damage they dealt to defeat a monster.

    Retaliation
Incapacitated players will be returned to their Grand Company's landing, where they will be allowed to rejoin combat after a short delay. This will not incur a weakness penalty, but the delay before you can rejoin the battle will lengthen each time you fall.

Furthermore, players will be temporarily invulnerable when leaving their Grand Company's landing in the Borderland Ruins (Slaughter).

    Mounts
Players are free to use mounts during Frontline campaigns. However, players taking damage while mounted will be inflicted with the Heavy status effect.

    Rewards
All players will receive PvP EXP and Wolf Marks, as well as Allagan tomestones of soldiery and Allagan tomestones of poetics based on their performance.

    PvPEXP

Accumulating PvP EXP raises PvP rank, and rewards players with actions points that can be used to enhance PvP-exclusive actions and traits.

    Wolf Marks

Wolf Marks can be exchanged for gear and other useful battle items by speaking with one of the Maelstrom soldiers stationed at the Wolves' Den.

With the addition of Borderland Ruins (Slaughter), The Carteneau Flats: Borderland Ruins has been renamed Borderland Ruins (Secure).

To reduce wait times when queueing for Frontline campaigns, the Duty Finder will no longer match together players in groups of 48 (three teams of 16).

When attacking monsters during Frontline campaigns, weaponskills with direction requirements will grant combo bonuses from any position.

Two-passenger mounts can no longer be used during Frontline campaigns.

Players can no longer block or parry limit break attacks.
