Estate vendor NPCs have been adjusted as follows:

The Cooking Ingredients category has been added to the material supplier.

    Chocobo raising has been implemented.

To access chocobo stables and begin raising a chocobo, players must complete the following quest:

    Quest Bird in Hand
    Required Level Level 30
    Location Central Shroud (X:20 Y:21)
    NPC: Luquelot
Prerequisites Players must first complete the quest "My Feisty Little Chocobo" and also belong to a free company which owns an estate.

    - Stabling Your Chocobo
To begin raising a chocobo, players must first acquire a Chocobo Stable, which can be purchased from the housing merchant NPC in any residential area. Once placed on the estate grounds, all free company members can stable their chocobos and begin their training.
    * An estate can only house one chocobo stable, which is shared between all free company members.
    * Players cannot mount their chocobos or summon them to battle when they are stabled. The companion menu is also inaccessible when your chocobo is stabled.

    - Training Your Chocobo

Your chocobo, as well as those of your free company members, can be trained while stabled to earn experience points. Chocobos can be trained once per hour, and will demand one of the following fruits or vegetables as a reward for their efforts:

Krakka Root / Curiel Root / Sylkis Bud / Mimett Gourd / Tantalplant / Pahsana Fruit / Thavnairian Onion

Experience granted will be the same regardless of the item selected, though stable conditions may affect experience gains. These fruits and vegetables can be obtained through gardening.

    - Chocobo Level Cap
For chocobos that have already attained the maximum rank, rewarding them with a Thavnairian onion following training will increase this upper limit by one.
    * Chocobo companions cannot exceed rank 20.

    - Favorite Feed
If you reward your chocobo with the same snack after repeated training sessions, that fruit or vegetable will become the chocobo's favorite feed. Your chocobo's favorite feed can then be used to grant beneficial effects when summoned to battle. You may change your chocobo’s favorite feed if you so desire by repeatedly rewarding your chocobo with a different snack after training.

    - Maintaining the Chocobo Stable
As you and your free company members continue to use the chocobo stable, it will begin to accumulate dirt and grime. Stable cleanliness is reflected by one of three conditions─good, fair, or poor─which can be confirmed by accessing the stable. Keep your stable clean to ensure that chocobo training is effective, yielding the most experience.

To clean the stable, access the chocobo stable interface and select Clean Stable. You must possess a magicked stable broom in your inventory to make use of this option.

The Say, Shout, Yell, Party, and Allliance chat channels can be used during Frontline. However, players can only see messages from comrades of their own Grand Company.

    * Players who abandon a Frontline campaign (not including players who join a match in progress or are vote kicked) will receive a penalty. Players so penalized will be unable to register for Frontline campaigns or the Wolves' Den for 30 minutes.
    * When participating in a Frontline campaign, players can receive but not send messages via free company and linkshell chat.

    - Entering Frontline
Players can queue to enter Frontline campaigns alone, or in a party of up to eight players. Although there are no role restrictions when queuing as a party, all party members must be affiliated with the same Grand Company.

To improve matching efficiency, 72 (three teams of 24), 48 (three teams of 16), or 24 (three teams of eight) combatants may be matched together depending on the number of available participants.

    - Role Requirements
When participating in Frontline campaigns, there are no role requirements or restrictions for parties. Moreover, players can freely change jobs or classes at their Grand Company's landing.
    * As with the three main cities, the recast time of skills will not be reset when changing classes or jobs.

    - Actions
The effects of certain non-PvP player actions have been restricted in Frontline campaigns.

    - Rules of Engagement
Players can increase their team's tatical rating by occupying and maintaining control of key locations, defeating players from opposing teams, and defeating enemies that spawn on the field.

The following activities will increase your team's tactical raiting:

    Occupying Key Locations

KeyLocations such as outposts and Allagan ruins can be identified by flags, indicating the Grand Company that currently controls them. At the start of each match, all locations will be unoccupied. By remaining in close proximity to the flags at these locations, players can occupy them to improve their team's tactical rating. However, these areas may turn neutral should enemies come within proximity of a flag controlled by your team, or vice versa.

A team's tactical rating will increase by a fixed amount upon claiming key locations, and will continue to increase over time for every location that remains occupied by their Grand Company.

Occupying these locations will prove key to victory, as this greatly affects your tactical rating.
    * The number of flags on the field will depend on the number of participants matched for combat.

    Incapacitating Opposing Players

Incapacitating opposing players will also increase your team's tactical rating.

    Defeating Monsters

Monsters will appear on the field periodically. Slaying them will also improve your team's tactical rating.

    - Retaliation
Incapacitated players will be returned to their Grand Company's landing, where they will be allowed to rejoin combat after a short delay. This will not incur a weakness penalty, but the delay before you can rejoin the battle will lengthen each time you fall.

    - Mounts
Players are free to use mounts on the Frontline. However, players taking damage while mounted will be inflicted with the Heavy status effect.

    - Rewards
commensurate with their performance. All players will also receive Allagan tomestones of mythology and Allagan tomestones of soldiery as a reward for participating.

    PvP EXP

By accumulating PvP EXP, you will rise in PvP rank, as well as earn action points. These points can be used to enhance PvP-exclusive actions and traits.

    Wolf Marks

Participating in and triumphing in Frontline campaigns will earn you Wolf Marks, which can be exchanged for gear and other useful battle items by speaking with one of the Maelstrom soldiers stationed at the Wolves' Den.

    Achievement Reward - Warsteed

After claiming a certain number of victories in Frontline campaigns, players will be rewarded with an achievement and the new warsteed mount.

    The Hunt has been added.

The Hunt is an initiative established by the Eorzean Alliance, offering a bounty to adventurers who aid in quelling the threat posed by notably dangerous monsters that prowl the realm.

    - Mark Bills
At each Grand Company headquarters, players will find a Hunt board upon which mark bills have been posted. There are two types of mark bills: regular mark bills, which are posted once per day, and elite mark bills, which are posted once per week. These bills list the name and number of targets to be hunted, their location, and the reward being offered for their defeat.

    - Regular and Elite Marks
While regular marks denote enemies commonly found in the wilds of Eorzea, elite marks denote powerful enemies that only appear under certain conditions. They are ranked according to the risk they pose: rank B (lowest risk), rank A, and rank S (highest risk). In addition to the bounties listed on the Hunt board, elite marks will yield rewards including Allied Seals, Allagan tomestones of mythology, and Allagan tomestones of soldiery. Players are free to pursue elite marks without procuring an elite mark bill from the Hunt board, but they will not be eligible for the bounties stated on the bill. To learn more of the nature of these elite marks, players can consult the hunter-scholars stationed at every hamlet about Eorzea.

    Allied Seals and Rewards
Allied Seals received from the Hunt can be exchanged for exclusive wares by speaking with the Hunt Billmaster at your Grand Company. Rewards include weapons, armor, minions, sands of time, oil of time, and alexandrite.
    * Allied Seals can only be exchanged at your affiliated Grand Company.

New marks will be posted on the Hunt board at the following times:
Regular mark bills: Daily at 8:00 a.m. (PDT)

Elite mark bills: Weekly on Tuesday at 1:00 a.m. (PDT)

    * Regular mark bill targets will differ from player to player. Elite marks will be the same for all players.

Before acquiring mark bills from the Hunt board, players must first complete one of the following quests:

    Quest Required Level and Location
Let the Hunt Begin (Maelstrom) Disciple of War or Magic level 50
    Limsa Lominsa - Upper Decisk (X:12 Y:12)
    NPC: Trachraet
Let the Hunt Begin (Twin Adder) Disciple of War or Magic level 50
    New Gridania (X:9 Y:11)
    NPC: Scarlet
Let the Hunt Begin (Immortal Flames) Disciple of War or Magic level 50
    Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:8 Y:9)
    NPC: Mimio Mio
    * Players are free to pursue elite mark enemies without completing the above quests.

    Desynthesis has been implemented.

Players can acquire the desynthesis skill by completing the following quest:

    Quest Gone to Pieces
Required Level Disciple of the Hand level 30
    Location Ul'dah - Steps of Thal (X:14 Y:10)
    NPC: Syntgoht
Prerequisites Players must first complete the main scenario quest "Life, Materia, and Everything."

    - Desynthesis Overview
Desynthesis is a new crafting ability that reduces items into to their constituent parts.

Desynthesis can be used on a number of different items including equipment, housing furnishings, and fish.

    - Using Desynthesis
Each crafting class has its own desynthesis skill level, which affects your chances of successfully breaking down an item, as well as the materials yielded if you succeed.

In patch 2.3, desynthesis is independent for each class, with a maximum level of 100. However, there is a skill point maximum of 300 that applies to all classes combined.

Successfully desynthesizing an item will raise your skill level for that class. However, this may also lower the skill level of other classes in certain instances.
    * If the skill level increase would bring your combined skill level over the 300 point maximum, the skill level of other classes will be lowered.
    * Crafting classes below level 30 will have a skill level of 0, and therefore cannot use Desynthesis.

    - Retrieving Items
Desynthesizing an item will primarily yield the raw materials used to create the item. On occasion, players will also receive special items that can only be obtained through desynthesis.

    * An issue has been discovered when desynthesizing on the PlayStation®3 version. Please refer to the Known Issues section for further details.
