Open Beta Running from 17-19 of August

A new Letter from the Producer was run recently by Yoshida. In it he answered many of the questions fans had about the game, most notably, about the up coming Phase 4 and open beta. He confirmed that the open beta will be August 17-19, with Phase 3 Beta testers getting early access on the 16th. Then they will go down in preparation for the release of the game. Progress made during the beta will carry over into the release. Early access for the release will be on the 24th, before the public release on the 27th.

There are a lot of details he went over, but he is a run down of the big things. The open beta will be level cap to 20. The housing system will be available to test in Gridania. The Great Labyrinth of Bahamut is meant to be the hardest challenge in the game at release and for a while. The Arcanist class will be available for the beta. There will be a unicorn mount available at some point. It also sounds like there will be user created content with tools available. They are currently working on them and said to look around at 8 months after launch for it.
