Lightning Arriving in Eorzea Soon

The crossover event between Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV was announced by Square Enix a while ago, but no date was ever announced for it. Today, the set has been announced along with more details on how it will play out. Starting on November 14th the first chapter to the event will become available and then every two days a new chapter will unlock until all four are available. The end date for the event is December 9th, with a planned return of the event in February to match with the release of Lightning Returns in NA and EU territories.

More details on the gear available can be found at the link, but there are 16 items total. There are 8 weapons to match with the 8 core classes with Summoner and Scholar sharing. Then there are 4 Snow items for male characters divided into body, hands, legs and feet. Lightning's original Final Fantasy XIII outfit is in a matching four pieces as well. Additionally, completion to unlock a new hair style available when 2.1 arrives in December when the hair stylists are available. The gear is all low level gear with low stats, it should not be a surprise since it is mostly vanity gear.

Each of the quests have a start location in a town found in the link. The level required for the quests increase starting at 12 and the last requiring 45 or higher.

The Lightning Returns crossover event with FFXIV is returning with the soon release of Lightning Returns on February 11th and February 14th. The returning event begins on February 4th along with the Valentines event. So anyone that has missed out on this event can pick up what they did not get last time.
