Like you mentioned, some of us are on Ultros already. At the moment, there's no mix-match of Legacy players with new players, but they did open up a server transfer tool earlier this week. I am curious to see whether this will eventually allow cross-population or not.

The game is played by both platforms so everyone plays on the same server, was like that with FFXI. If you have a PS3 code you can trade it for a PC code on Reddit I'm sure.

Well i was able to login and download the pc version after activating my ps3 beta. So if you have either you can play it on computer, no need to trade codes or anything. It just seems like you ned the 'additional' ps3 promo code to do the ps3 beta.

think there is a early start for pre-ordering. also, could try checking gameradar.com and zam to see if they have anymore beta codes to give out.

Wow, Zam's still around huh? I sort of forgot about that place after I stopped playing FFXI. Good to see it is around still, always a great resource.

Anyway, I'm doing the install process right now. I had to go through a lot of trouble to get to my Members account on SE. But with any luck, I'll be ready for the weekend and not have any real downtime. The download speed is awful though.

Do they have a list somewhere of which are legacy servers are non-legacy servers? If Ultros is unavailable for non-legacy beta testers.

Legacy users are people who bought the original FFXIV and registered the game before X date. I don't know what that date is, but likely you'd know if you were or not.

I'm having issues with the whole damn thing.

I registered and opened my Squeenix account (had to do it on the laptop) & put the beta key in ... Buuuuut IDK how to access all this junk on my ps3? I'm so lost -_-;;

The secondary code, the 12 digit one, was for your PS3. You punch that in on your system where it says "Redeem Code" either in the PSN store, or under options for your PSN account. This will download the beta software to your console, and then you can log in with your Square Enix account.

Yeah, once you finish all of the sign and management stuff on the PC. You just go into the PSN Store and put in the code. It'll download and install. It is a small file, just the client for the game. Once you launch that, the client, you'll need to sign with your SE Members account and then get through all of the EULA and NDA stuff. Then it'll start updating, which for me is taking hours. So best to let it run overnight.

And definitely good to do it in advance, because the beta play goes live again on weekends for now. Updating in advance will make your access much simpler.

Last I heard Dawezy still wasn't playing FFXIV (I even offered him a free key last year), but ZRO is on Sargatanas with myself, or rather I am on Sargatanas with ZRO.

Also for the time immediately following release we won't be able to transfer to any 'fresh' servers, i think so established characters don't wreck the new servers economies. So we are stuck to Sargatanas, Balmung, Hyperion, or Excalibur (Ragnarok being a European server). I'll try and find out how long we will be relegated to these established servers.
