New Lightning Returns Trailer "Divine Task"

Square Enix released a new trailer today. This one talks about Lightning's mission. It shows the younger Hope mentioned before and even gives a surprise tease of someone that might get the fans excited. There also looks to be some more CG scenes cut into the trailer from her meeting with Snow.

Some new screenshots to go along with the new video. The first ones show off Hope as he appeared in FFXIII. It is said that he is a little older than when he was in FFXIII, but definitely seems to be closer to the original Hope rather than the one we know from FFXIII-2. It is unknown what happened to Hope to cause him to be younger again. Hope is watching from the room shown in the trailer and screenshots, the room is in the Ark, which is a part of the new Cocoon, created at the end of FFXIII-2.

These screenshots show more of the area that Hope stays in watching Lightning from, but also a statue that was seen in some concept art. It might be from one of the cities already shown. According to what Square Enix has said the place that Hope is in is out of the normal flow of time. There is the Mana Tree, Yggdrasil that Lightning can offer a specific item to in order to get more time for the world. This is how the player will be able to increase the time limit from the original 7 days to the max of 13 days.

So many questions arise from this trailer. I still don't see how or why Lightning would work for Bhunivelze when he was against Etro. With its current track I don't kniw how much if that will be explained. These entries FF XIII/-2 haven't shown the "gods" of this world. Having their pawns or emissaries act for them. I would like to see things from their perspective, but they have largely been in the shadows. Where is Caius in all of this. With the ending of FF XIII-2 it would stand to reason he be around. His absence in the media thus far released is interesting.

Yeah, considering she was working for Etro is seems strange, but I'm guessing the events from FFXIII-2 might have disillusioned her towards Etro or maybe it is a case of she was offered something she could not refuse. A lot of the things Lightning does are because of Serah. I'm guessing her reasons here probably have a lot to do with Serah.
