Square Enix put together an event in Tokyo for their upcoming game Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII called the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Premium Experience Meeting. Judging from the photos of the event, every event goer had a larger monitor in front of them giving them a close look while they played the game. While demoing the game, they also talked a lot more about the game giving some small details on matters and larger pieces.
Here is the rundown on what they released. There will be over 80 outfits to find and collect, along with around 70 to 80 weapons and shields as well. There will even be accessories available at shops. They are considering having wearable accessories for Lightning as well, it's not clear if they meant to be seen visibly or equip. Also talked about before, but all equipment will be customizable with colors. So if a color does not work for the player, they can change it. The available colors appear to be plentiful. If players have Final Fantasy XIII and/or Final Fantasy XIII-2 save data, they will be able to wear the outfits Lightning had in the respective games. So players can relive Lightning in her past games.
They have confirmed that Vanille will be in the game as well. She is part of a religious sect called Salvation Council, which is based in the City of Luxerion. Additionally, Lightning's work in Luxerion is a murder investigation, where there will be both detective and tracking elements for her to do. They say there is a place in the Dead Dunes that will "feel real" and a large desert. As talked about before Snow is the Govern General of City of Yusnaan, which will have several points of interest for players. As time passes in the game, the shops will sell different items. In the beginning Lightning will only be able to carry 6 items, but as the story progresses she'll be able to take more.
They have also revealed that there will be no mini-games, but there will be quests with mini-game elements. A quest make ask to be completed it a different manner.
There will be optional areas to explore after the completion of the game, but they are still working on the difficulty of them. The New Game Plus will allow the player to explore these areas. There is only one ending. There will be an arena to fight in.
The last bit of detail if players were curious, the revealed that they increased Lightning's bust size to let her wear some of the outfits better. So she is now a D-Cup rather than a C-Cup.
