If the FFXIII has the option of renaming your party...

...what names you would assign to the characters? As you may know, FFXIII has voice acting and thus, you cannot rename the characters to your liking but if you had the chance, what names you would assign to them? That is the question. Enjoy.

I wouldn't rename them. I never do. Character names are not arbitrary, they're as much a part of them as anything else. Besides, I've never come across a video game character whose name didn't suit them to the point where I wish they'd been called something else.

I do admit that I sometimes come up with some less than flattering nicknames for certain characters occasionally... None in this game, though.

I rarely rename the characters on FF games. But if I could then there would be only one character who I would change their name. I would change Sazh's name to Token. B/c he is the token black guy..

I don't like changing the names in Final Fantasy much either. I used to to do it all the time when I was younger, but now I just prefer the names given. No matter what I choose, it'll never fit them anyway... unless you count me renaming Red XIII to Nanaki every time I play. >>;

I won't say it here in case someone who's not played yet reads, but I'd probably change Lightening's name to her original name. But even then it won't fit when she talks about her name change.

Speaking of that... in many cutscenes, names are spoken. =S

I tend to do it more often with other games though. If Square Enix ever made a Final Fantasy game with nameless characters, I'm sure I'll think of something to fit though.

Really now, do you have names for other characters in mind? I would rename Lightning as Paleface and Hope as either Tidus or Roxas.

I don't change names usually, when i first played FF in the early 90's i used to change names, like in VII, but not anymore. If i HAD to choose it would be:

Lightning = Alexia
Hope = Chris
Sazh = Michael
Vanille = Emily
Fang = Milla
Snow = Brad
