Yeah FFXII is always telling you that you might want to make a new save file. Anyway, I am sadly a poor memory person for FFXII, especially early on in the game. I ran through it in 5 days, so it is bound to happen. I would say that leveling is a good thing, if needed. But also, weapons. Weapons tend to make the character a little more so than the extra level. The levels do help, but if you are not equiped with the best available at the moment, it will be hard to make it up with levels.

So my first question to anyone is, do you have the best gear available. I got heavy armor and swords/shield myself. But you do not need to. Just as long as you got the best available. If you can't because of LP, get LP. And if it is gil, go to the the Bhusu Mines or whatever they are called, the skels are great chains for good money early in the game, until you get to the Stilshrine.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Yeah I just started my old save back up, I had heaps of those bone fragments so I sold them off and I am going to try and get myself to level 14-15 in those mines to get the better Weapons/Armour, just did not really like that thing when you had to shout all that stuff. Also do I have to sell certain things to unlock magic/weapons? I skimmed through the town before so I thought I may have missed out on Cura but it seems that I haven't. Also which of the Quickenings are worth getting? I had one but I didn't get it till I got to the Dreadnought.

Yeah, the bazaar is set up so the more loot you sell the more "Special" deals show up. Each item in the bazaar has a formula for what is needed for it to become available. It keeps track of them some what, but if you sell like 99 fragments and the formula requires like 2, the 98 you sold after unlocking them aren't there anymore... least so I am told, but something as common as that I didn't really care for and just sold a bunch of them.

As for me, when I was at your point in the game, I was already level 20. So It wasn't much of a problem for me. Also when you start the fight, didn't something happen with Fran? Or am I getting ahead of myself? If so, when you start that battle, put her in, and she'll be like boosted with berserk and that'll let her go at it for a while... you could use that, but since I was fine for my level I didn't need to.

As for Quickenings, I didn't learn any quickenings at all. I didn't have to until the gambits I set up were too mana draining at the time for my characters, so I learned them to boost their MP, but after learning the entire LP board, I get much MP back from attacking, casting spells and what not, rather than just walking, so it's up to you. My levels were satisfactory for the enemies I was fighting so I have yet to use a quickening on a mob. >.>

No, spells and abilities are only available in certain towns or after a certain point in the story. But once you buy the scroll you still naturally need the LP to be able to use it.

And personally I don't use Quickenings, the only use they are for is to increase your MP. You will not notice a difference with the first Quickening, but the second and third will add another slot of MP to you. So if you have 90 MP, a second quickening gives you another 90 MP same as a third, so you could have 270 MP. That is pretty awesome. The thing about Quickenings is that it burns through your MP like no other and is not really useful until you have multiple people with Quickenings. It is just not very easy to solo Quickening, or at least level 1. There are enough Quickenings on the LP for all 6 characters to have 3 each, their max. And there is no one quickening for one person. So you pick them out for who ever, but once the person selects that specific square for them, it is removed for the others.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Hey, I'm in the Giza plains looking for the Gil snapper in the rains. I can't find him no matter where I look, any advice on where to go/what to do?

First off, make sure that it is raining in the plains. Secondly, while it is raining you have to do a little side-quest in order to get to the Gil Snapper. The first thing you do is go through the Plains and look for these small tree-like twigs. You are given an option to cut them off. And while you do that they flow along the stream (river, whatever it is) and flows along the Plains forming a new path in the southeast of the plains. You'll notice it once you get there.

Enter in the new path and make sure that it is raining heavily, not just normally because it will not lure the Gil Snapper out if its raining lightly. If he doesn't show up the first time, then keep on leaving in and out of the area until a guy from the Clan tells you that he's there. Then when he's there, start kicking butt. Hope this helps.

Also:If you can't find the tree like twigs, they are usually by the stream in the plains. If I recall, when you chop one off, the locations of the rest appear on your map I think.

Hey folks, sorry if these are bassic questions or have already been answered, i dont want to risk the chance of spoilers

i was hoping someone could tell me if i can do the Cluckatrice clan hunt after the rains have come to the Giza Plains? I'm about lvl 22, only about 20 hours into the game if that helps. Do the rains go away? Because it looks to me as if that part of the map has been cut off >.<

Also- When a monster is immune to Libra (ie just come up with ?????? instead of info) is there a good reason for this? Speacial monsters or bosses etc? or maybe a second libra spell down the track?

Come someone PM me the answers? ( dont want nasty spoilers D: ) Cuz that would be very very lovely. Cheers!

Yes... you can still do the hunt. What I like to do is go to Rabanastre with the gate to the plains, and just cycle in and out. In time, the plains will magically be dry again. Just keep going in and out the doors...

The Libra thing - That has happened to me also. Try a second Libra with another character, and that should take care of it. It has for me atleast. I have never come across an issue with not being able to "read" the enemy with Libra going atleast once. I am 110 hours in....

I also have a question, how do you get to the hidden area in the Lhusu Mines with the brave suit?

This is not a spoiler but the enemies that you face are special monsters. They are also known as rare game in your Clan Bestiary. However, I noticed that some other enemies are immune to libra to for no reason at all. So possibly, they just are immune to it for whatever reason.

As for the rains, if you go back to Rabanastre or at least out of the Giza Plains and wait a few minutes, then the dry season should come. There is also a guy in Rabanastre that can tell you how long the rains will last until its dry. Hope this helps.

I need some advice. I am stuck at the Stillshrine of Miriam. I need some advice on how to get past the boss. My characters lvls are Vaan-30, Balthier-30,Fran-23,Basch-22, Ashe-30,Penelo-23. As you can tell Vaan, Balthier, and Ashe are my main characters. Each character has 1 quickening except for Basch who has 2. So any advice?

    Having trouble w/ that Viera / Loxley Bow little quest atm, seeing if I done something wrong.. at the beginning of the game I talked to the NPC Viera in Southgate and she moved zones, and erm, thats where I left it. The "Lovestruck Man" in the Southern Plaza currently says;

"Did you see? Have you heard? Have you ... touched? You really shouldn't touch, you know.
    ...Why, the viera, of course!

Such style and grace... Everything I've ever wanted in a woman! I wonder if she's attached..."

So I'm certain its started, but, the Viera isnt showin her booty at the Gambits shop.. ; ; did I miss something?
    SPOILER!!:

how far are you in the game? i am pretty sure that affects your ability to do the mission...

angel of darkness which boss are you fighting in there? the first one has a high defense if i remember correctly, so it is probably best to prgram your gambits to healing, but it might take a while. whereas the second one in there destry the enemies around her first.

So you're fighting Mateus? Hmm I forget the spells you should have at this point, but if you have dispel, use it on her. Also try to defeat the ice monsters she summons to help her out. Eliminating the minions will help you out as there would be less people attacking you, leaving you with time to attack rather than focus on healing so much from the damage. Check your gambits, if you're using them to make sure you're healing for maximum efficiency, like a Cura when one person is near critical, most likely your party would be down and it'd heal them all. If you have quickenings try to get a chain off the start of the battle, and work from there to get rid of the Ice things early on. Also Thunder magic works well against ice elements. One thing to note is Mateus' reflect, so if you're using -dra or -ga try not to hit her as well or you'll be zapped.

All in all being around level 30 should fare a decent fight so that shouldn't be the issue, but if you still are finding trouble at this point. Just back track and level up a couple times then come back and fight her. Also you're using the current best weapons and such? Those help a lot in the earlier stages.

Is there something different at that point in the International Version? Iono... I'm playing the US version so if there isn't hope this helps... After fighting and beating the second Wall. You should be able to go further in and see an ancient door? Examine it and open it and that should trigger a cut-scene. Then it's your job to further explore the tomb, you should find Passag Jewels that you can press that should remove parts of a wall, as well as spawning monsters, so be ready for that, after removing the wall completly you should be able to progress further. Get ready for a fight and after that watch how things progress.

Ok. Thanks Keisuke Takahashi. I've tried again and I got real close to beating it. I'll switch my gambits around so i'll have cura ready for all when a character is critical.

well you start out by using a quickening for that person.. then while their quickening animation is goin on, you quickly press a button that's next to one of your character's names, or R2 for a shuffle... and just try to do it as many times as your timerbar at the bottom, lets you... this is a guess, I haven't used a quickening since I've started the game and i'm 90 hours into the game >.>

I got him to appear once. He was almost defeated when he killed the last of my party members. That's been a few weeks ago. I let it go until now. I have all Clan/Notice Board hunts completed except for Fafnir, Behemoth King and the last one (not numbered in the game guide).

As many times as I leave and re-enter the area where Fafnir is, I can't get him to re-appear. Can anyone tell me the trick to getting him to come back? It's bad enough it takes forever to get heavy snowfall in the area, and it sucks that I have spent 2 hours (over the last few days) leaving and re-entering the area with no luck in getting Fafnir to show up.

    Thanks for any help.

Is there some trick to getting this hunt to appear on the notice board (or in Montblanc's elite hunts, if that's where it's supposed to show up)? I have completed all of the other Clan/Notice Board hunts except for Fafnir and Behemoth King (and the last one, not numbered in the game guide).

The only hunt left in the Notice Boards is Fafnir. Montblanc says he doesn't have any new hunts. I'm assuming that the last hunt requires all other hunts to be completed, so I'm not worried about that one yet.

What I don't understand is why the Behemoth King hunt hasn't shown up either on the Notice Boards or in Montblanc's list. Does anyone have a clue? Oh, and I know I haven't already defeated the Behemoth King because I would remember the fight (Rank VII hunt) as it would have killed all my characters at least once or twice before I won it.

Please do not double post, just edit your post.

Anyway for Fafnir, you need to be heavy snow throughtout, which I imagine you got. The easiest way and possibly the way you need to do it for the hunt is talk to the Viera that is part of the hunt. Talk to her, it will make it heavy snow outside and just follow the normal path you did last time to fight Fafnir.

As for Behemoth King, I'm not sure. I beat him, so I know it appears. All I can think of is that you need to get Fafnir killed. But I am pretty sure I had Behemoth King before that. You are finished with all of the storyline right? Because some of the things in the game are based on that. You just have to fight the final boss right?
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

There are several areas in the Lhusu Mines, but you need the mine key to get into it. If you do the Diabolos hunt, I think it was where you have to save a couple of kids from a monster. They will mention that they dropped the key. You then need to go to a NPC in hunter's camp that is on the way to Archaes.

The NPC will give you a key and you can enter the next section of the mines. Though you will probably run into Gilgamesh in there if you have that hunt started. I do not recall, but I think you have to talk to another person to get further access to the mines after another hunt. My memory is hazy.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.
