What SeeD really stands for?

As you may know, the elite mercenary force of Balamb Garden that Squall takes part in is called SeeD. However, it is never revealed what the letters in the name really stands for. Considering their true purpose, my pick would be obviously the Sorceress elimination and execution Department. Tell me what do you think about this.

In the in-game Help menu in the Info section, if you read the info, it says that Garden and SeeD were named because the founders, Cid and Edea Kramer, wanted to plant seeds (orphaned children and yong people as military cadets) in their garden.

That might be a possibility, but I always wondered why both S and D in the name is in capitals and I think that Sorceress elimination and execution Department as an acronym should be reasonable in my opinion. If you have your own theories, do post them.

Well it sounds right, but it doesn't need to be an acronym. SOLDIER and Turk stand for nothing, just signifies which dept. you work for, and since FFVIII came out relatively close to FFVII maybe they decided with more silly titles

So if I capitalize 2 random letters just to make it look cool, does it mean it means something? Alpha said the only correct way of putting it. SeeDs live in the Gardens. I mean wouldn't it look weird seeing Seed instead of SeeD?
