Just defeated Seifer to finish disc 3, put disc 4 in the console and got a 'wrong disc' message. Tried again several times, disc is clean and undamaged. I don't know what's wrong but my heart is breaking a little bit. I haven't played VIII before but this is my gf's second or third playthrough and if anything she's even more upset than me (which just makes me wanna play disc 4 all the more!)

Should be borrowing someone's PSN copy soon so it'll all be OK but I just needed to vent.
