Moogles: Where did they come from?

Moogles I had just taken as a general kind of life in Final Fantasy, and FF9 in particular. However, I was replaying it again, and remembered that there are two moogles found in Terra, who have apparently never been to or heard of Gaia or any moogles there. Are moogles originally from Gaia? Or is it like the land-bridge theory in America (Some crossed to Gaia when they could (the original assimilation attempt) and forgot their heritage). Could moogles be from Terra, and passed over with the other Terrian things like Oielvert and the Iifa Tree?

Or could I just be blowing all of this out of proportion and moogles just are there for final fantasy sake?

    FINISH HIM!

To be honest does it really matter? They are cute and everywhere as far I am concerned that is all there is you need to know about them really.

You got me there. If your asking where they originated it will be FFIII, but really I don't know. They are strange yet VERY cute creatures, I mean come on look at FFCC, it's all small and cuddly. But yeah I have no idea where they come from. Maybe Square expected someone to ask that lol.

I'll just copy paste this in here, since it pretty much answers the question. >_>

"The Japanese name for moogles is moguri, which is a combination of the japanese words for mole and bat. And doesn't the moogle look like a mole-bat?"

Edit: Oh! You mean in regards to FF lore. Uhm.. Who really knows. Let's just say they migrated from Terra. xP

Thanks, Vic <,<. This will basically give you the lay out of the lore.

It is the last game of the entire series.

The first two series, for those of you who don't read or know, were 7 volumes total and all for PS2. There was also an 8th; it was called .hack//Fragment Offline. A lot of people didn't know that I bet. Has anyone read any .hack manga? If you don't plan on getting Link and instead prefer to read, I recommend at least trying out .hack//Link Manga- Read .hack//Link Manga Online for Free at Manga Fox. Let me know what you think.
