I just recently started playing this game again. I put about 30 hours into it already in disc 1, just playing damn cards and grinding some ap early. So I'm coming to the end of disc 1, when the whole plot to

Well, starting with the scene introducing her, all of a sudden the cutscene starts to get unbearably laggy, but it will pull through and after making it to the mini sequence where you acknowledge what is happening with Squall and Irvine, it reverts back to

the sorceress who gives her speech and kills what's his name
then it tries to turn back into a cutscene and the camera angle shoots upwards towards the sky showing the crowd and fireworks, and it is here, where the game freezes. Well not the entire game, the music still plays constantly, almost as if to taunt me, lol.

I just purchased it brand new from a friend of mine (well obviously not brand new, but still plastic wrapped) and there is not a scratch on it. It played immaculately up until this point, and it saddens me because I know I'm so close to being on the next disc and moving on. I've tried several times to replay and get past this point, but it just locks up and the music laughs away at me.

Has anyone had a similar experience with a brand new copy of the game?
It's not the system either as it does the same thing between my PSX and PS2. I'm tempted to try it on PS3, but i'd have to replay it all over again, which if I rushed probably wouldn't take too long, but I'm thinking that I should just get a digital copy from the PSN. Not worth it considering I just dropped $40 on it, but I guess if it's what I have to do, it's what I have to do. Back to playing VI and Tactics for now lol
