A. Lets see if I can get this right. Originally, Garland who had created him and Zidane, was sent to Gaia and meant to start chaos allowing Garland to retreive more souls. However, Kuja wants to overthrow Garland and rule both Terra and Gaia so he tries to obtain the eidolons during the war. :)

A. Hope I get this right: Kuja told her that Lindblum and the other nations were ploting to overthrow her and destroy Alexandria. Kuja used her like a puppet. Kuja offered his services in the war by creating a Black Mage Army, and took Brahne that to obtain greater power she had to obtain the sacred Eidolons, and reveiled that her daughter (Garnet) processed such eidolons but could only be extracted at the age of 16. To make a long story short Kuja played Brahne into starting a war which in turn Kuja would harvest souls, and eventually when Brahne outlived her usefulness he killed her. (Um... lol correct if wrong, I think I hit some sort of mark on the question)
