Sry don't remember much been few years, but I did beat the game
But when they meet at the ball, squalls just like w.e,
first time I saw intro I thought she was like a Angel for squall
But she seems to be just another human, and. Don't understand what the intro was, a dream or what...

Foreshadowing...it is what gets people hooked into a story to continue reading the book, watching the show, or in this case, playing the game.

The intro sets up the dynamic rivalry between Squall and Seifer, but also gives the player some images of the future so hook the player. Foreshadowing is a classic literary tool that made one of the best FF intros.

As Icy said, it's foreshadowing. You said you beat the game right? Do you remember the conversation that Rinoa and Squall had after they saved Rinoa (again) Disk three somewhere...after getting Ragnarok and before time compression. It was in the Flower Garden of the Orphanage. That scene always sticks out in my mind. It's a foreshadowing of that specific part.

(EDIT: It was because of a dream that Rinoa had...That's why she made the promise. The Promise was made in real game time)

yeah i beat this game but it was wayyyy back and barely remember the story...

can u refresh that scene for me?

its him making the promise to her, she tells him she has had a dream that shes running over all the plains of wherever and she cant find him anywhere, is shouting for him and wotnot, so hes like, its becasue we havent made the promise yet.

Soooo, he just says

If you come here, you'll find me, I promise

then she asks why, and i cant remember the rest, but that scene is just esentially saying if we lose each other, we'll always find each other here, setting up the ending scene of the game pretty much

Rinoa tell Squall about a dream she had in which they made a promise to see shooting stars together, but she can't remember where to meet him, searches for him but can't find him and wakes up in tears. The conversation afterwards goes like this:

S - “It was just a dream...It doesn't mean anything. Don't worry about it.”
R - “...I guess you're right.”
S - “How about this...I'll be here...”
R - “...Why?”
S - “The reason why you couldn't find me was because we haven't promised yet.”
R - “Promised...?”
S - “I'll be waiting for you. If you come here, you'll find me. I promise.”
R - “I'll be here, too. It's a promise!”

These are pretty much the exact words in the beginning so it is a foreshadowing of what's to come.

Aw that's romantic but unfortunately I am bipolar and been down last 2 days so I kinda want squall to be like I don't need u I don't need anyone!!!!!
