hi i have a question for everyone can anyone tell me why dagger cuts of her beautiful long hair. I think she looks better with long hair. And it seem funny not literally! in the scene when dagger slices of her hair it just falls perfectly into place and it stays the same length. does anyone think that daggers hair grows over time at the end or do you think its hair extentions. i hope anyone can answer my question.
I agree with Cereal~Killer, in that it was a symbolic move on her part. It signified that she was moving past all of the hardships in her life. Plus, her head's shape really pulls off the shorter hair look.
One Question: Why is this in Final Fantasy XI (11)? Dagger was Final Fantasy IX (9)! The forums are in numerical order you know.
Social Group Endorsements, TFF Awards, and Other Accomplishments (Updated December 26, 2013):
Dagger cuts her hair because this is the time in the game whereby she has just overcome the grief she has been recently riddled with because of her 'mothers' death and the destruction of Alexandria by Bahamut, in this scene she cuts her hair because she wants to keep travelling with Zidane and their friends, rather than stay at home and watch as her kingdom is rebuilt, to do this without feeling any guilt and regret, she wishes to temporarily reinvent herself and her personality, and so she cuts her hair so that she can be Dagger and not Garnet, at least for a while.
The reason she is able to cut it perfectly evenly is because whilst she was in her silenced grief ridden state, she was thinking about a lot of things, including this, and she sure as hell isn't going to mess it up right from the start by cutting her hair in a way which makes her looking like an idiot. Also, she can see what she's doing in the reflection cast by the water on the lake, so she's basically looking in the mirror.
Also it doesn't matter if Dagger's hair is long or short because she looks absolutely perfect either way. And of course as we see in the final cutscene her hair has grown back, but does not do this if you leave the game running for a ridiculous amount of time. Personally, I prefer her with short hair because this is when she truly adopts and more relaxed attitude and personality in the game, which I prefer to her royal tone.
