Get a few attacks in (anywhere from two to four depending on how confident you are I suppose) and then block his barrage. Look out for the messages on screen to know when to dodge his attacks, once you get a pattern going it's not as difficult as it first seems. Much like in my first play through of FFVII I found HP plus to work a treat when incompetence got the better of me!

An easy way to beat Angeal, is to get behind him. When you do that, he doesn't turn around, to try and attack. Stay behind him. Get in a couple attacks, about 3 or 4 hits, then dodge out of the way. Keep doing this, and you'll be able to defeat him in no time.

also you can do the "Zack, the materia hunter" missions and get a bunch of powerful materia and try to get these six materia, Curaga or cura, blizzaga or dark blizzara, dash, and mbarriar and barriar with hp+100% combined between them and you should be fine

what level are you? i was stuck on him for a bit and ended up having to go do some missions to level/get more HP. other than that just sneak around and block.

*EDIT* also, use a phoenix down before you enter the fight

This. Also, keep your HP up. An easy way is to buff your materia to add hp (easy way is to fuse any curative materias, a chocobo feather, then a f*ck-ton of potions. Should bring it up to 280% or so)

i was only maybe level 19 or 20 at the time but the materia with 100 HP+% was a life saver

I was somewhere in the 30-40 range already before I got to Angeal. Just like they suggested completing missions helps. It helps alot. The best items, store cards, and materia are from running through missions.

All I did in that fight was have my favorite materia in CC, Quake, mastered with HP+700%, Mug materia with MAG+100, and Libra materia mastered with MP+100%. Zack beat him stupid.

The first two series, for those of you who don't read or know, were 7 volumes total and all for PS2. There was also an 8th; it was called .hack//Fragment Offline. A lot of people didn't know that I bet. Has anyone read any .hack manga? If you don't plan on getting Link and instead prefer to read, I recommend at least trying out .hack//Link Manga- Read .hack//Link Manga Online for Free at Manga Fox. Let me know what you think.
