Final Fantasy VII Remake in Development Since Last Year, Not a Straight Visual Update

In an interview, Nomura was able to give more details about the remake for Final Fantasy VII. He confirmed that development on the game had been going since even before the PC port was announced. The decision of the announcement now was to help encourage Japanese players that the PS4 would have great titles. He also said that they are not planning on just making a straight visual update to the game. He wants to surpass the original and the scenario director from the original was back to add new story to the game and the gameplay would be evolved.
