    The Dragon forest is north of the Veldt, east of the crazy man's house. It's SUPPOSED to look like the head of a dragon, but I don't see it. Just be prepared for some tough fights.

    To learn rages, Strago must be hit by it, and survive. That means for stuff like Big Guard, Pearl Wind and Pep Up, you have to have Gau or Relm in the party, (or confuse the person, but that isn't always the best way), have gau know the rage of a monster who knows the lore, and use that. Relm can control the monster and then get the spell casted on the party.

    Rage, when you get on the Veldt, Gau can leave the party for a short amount of time to learn monster skills. In battle he can use them by selecting a monsters rage. When he chooses, he goes into a thing comparable to berserk, where he can execute any skill the monster he's raging could use. Magic, Lores, normal attacks, etc. You can't control him at all during this. So it's just a bunch of luck.

    I never really got a trick developed for Setzers slot, the best I can get is the Flash to work.

    Terra in her other form boosts her magic and physical strength.

    You have Edgar of course too.
    Terra is in Mobliz, you may have ran into her earlier, but I believe at this point she should be willing to rejoin.

    Locke is in the phoenix cave, just north of Tzen, land in the green in the middle of the range. You may want to wait to get him later.

    Relm, since you have Shadow, is in Owzers secret gallery in Jidoor.

    Strago is at the foot of the Fantic's tower, you can get him back with Relm in the Party.

    Wether you saved mog or not before doesn't matter, Go back to the part of Narshe's caves where the moogles were, he'll be there.

    And the secret characters.

    Umaro is in an unchecked part of Narshe's caves, go and fight Tritoch, and it will reveal the enterance. Have Mog with you, and he'll join.

    Gogo is on an island in the north east conrner of the world. Fight the Zone Eater there, and let it eat all of your party. Gogo is at the end of the cave.

    I think that's it...

    Okay, here's my question:

    I've found all seven dragons, but when I look in walkthrus, it says there's one in triangle island. I never found one in triangle island. Do they lie? Anyways....

    Is it true that you should just send one person out to walk around and gain levels in the dragon forest? I found that it was better to send out a group of 4 for a while, and then put someone out on their own when they got close to level 99. Am I perhaps doing it wrong, and there is an even faster way? Anyways...

    The people in the veldt cave refer to a dragon, but it isn't THE dragon. and it's in the forest I mentioned earlier. That fellow knows Disaster (which lays a ton of status fun on you), Sneeze, and Ultima. But you get a fair amount of exp and MP from the fellow, as well as a random, but very welcome Economizer. You can also steal ribbons from them, I believe, if you have big enough balls to play games like that with such a monster.

    And I too level up that way as well. But I don't know if it works that well... If you were to do it without an experience egg, it'd be a waste of time, and very dangerous. But if you have one (I have three from wagering tintinabars at the colleseum), it would be of benefit to do that, I believe. Since all the characers in your party would gain the benefit of the double exp, and the share that is usualy reserved for the fourth person.

    Read the parenthesis. Wager tintinabars, I believe. Get one from the Soldier in Mobliz, one from the Emperor's banquet. You can get more I'm sure, but aren't worth it in my opinion.

    You can also reverse the process, wager the egg for a tintinabar... but why do that?

    When you first get to mobliz, (too late now) talk to the wounded Soldier. he'll talk about his love, and how he can't write to her. Go over to the Carrier Pidgeon office next door, and deliver it in his name. Now talk to the guy that shows you the animation on the serpent trench. Talk to the soldier again, and send another item in his name. Repeat until he coughs up the relic.

    Do well in the Banquet Mini-game to get the second.

    I think you can wager megalixers for tintinabars and then to exp. eggs... yeah but does anyone wanna tell me where i can get megalixrs? My ffvi skills are kinda rusty and i think i stole or won them from peepers on the island celes wakes up on in the world of ruin.

    Hey and also I forget where to pick up the Exp egg in Daryl's tomb, the world is square etc.

    Someone wanna remind me?

    Megalixir Question:
    -Well, I just checked up on it, and from what I've seen, you can only steal Megalixirs from Master Pugs, and Earth Guard enemies. You can only steal normal Elixirs from those Peeper enemies you mentioned. So if you want Megalixirs, you'll have to find those enemies to steal from. Or, if you want Tintinabars, go and fight some Pugs at the cave where you get Umaro, they occasionally drop them after battle......

    Exp. Egg Question:
    -There's a blank tombstone in a room near the entrance to the area. Inside you'll be asked if you'd like to write something, and after inspecting the four other tombstones in another room, write: Thew Orld Issq Uare, in that order. You'll then discover how to find the Exp. Egg, which is in Basement 3, through a hidden passage to the right of the treasure box with a Czarina Gown in it. Sorry if this doesn't help, it's all I can tell....

    Quick questions

    I was wondering what is gained by defeating all of the dragons? I skipped the first two and I was wondering if its worth going back to defeat them? Also where is the best place to level?

  22. #22

    Definitely go back and fight those dragons! If you didn't notice, each dragon gives up a nice item for beating them.

    Ice I belive gives up a Force Shield
    Storm gives up Force Armor
    Dirt has a Magus Rod
    Pearl has a Pearl Lance
    Skull has the muscle belt
    Gold the crystal orb
    Red the Strato Katana
    Blue the Scimitar

    All good items you'd want to fight to get, but the best is when you beat all of them, you release the Crusader Esper. This guy teaches Merton (or Melton on PSX) and Meteor (10x, compared to the one you got from Odin, so if you hesitated over changing him to Raiden so hastilly, you can recoup that right now), it has a 50% boost on each MP increase you get at each level up it's equipped, the only down side is that it damages the party as well as the opponents when summoned in battle.

    To level up, I reccomend going to the Desert south of Maranda first off. The monsters have a good balance of exp, MP, and GP after each successful battle. Once you bulk up enough, move to the forest I mentioned earlier, the one north of the veldt. Equip a few exp eggs, and you'll be gaining levels hand over fist.

    Re: FFVI HELPLINE (possible spoilers inside)

    I really don't want to search through the 19 pages of this thread to look for the answer to my question. Besides, I don't want to find out too much about the game before I get to the scenes/battles that the 19 pages are all asking about.

    My question:

    I just defeated the Octopus (kind of), and now Sabin is floating away on his own. Now I am told to select a scenario. My choices are to go with Sabin, go with Locke, or stay with the party of Edgar, Terra, and BANON. Does it matter what order I do the scenarios in? What I mean is will it change the other scenarios if I do a specific one first?

    Thank you kindly.

    You will have to do all three of them, so it really doesn't matter too much. Sabin's is the longest and Edgar/Terra/Banon's is the shortest. I usually go with Locke, then Sabin, then the others.

    But whenever you find new characters, the level they are when you get them is decided from the levels of your current characters (total characters, not just characters in your party). So if you want your new characters to be a little stronger when you find them, it might be a good idea to do the longer scenarios later, so the experience from the earlier scenarios still factors in.

    Go to Tzen any time after you escape the Magitek factory. There's a guy hiding in the forest in the upper right corner. Talk to him and he'll offer to sell you the esper. If you do it in the world of balance, it'll cost 3000 GP, and will be well worth it. Later I believe he will sell it for 10 in the World of Ruin.

    But the learning rates attributed to the curative magic it offers is something you want to get as soon as possible. A must have before the Cave to the espers

    I know this is late but if you go to the dino forest next to Gau's dad's house in WoR you can win Imp Halberds from tyranosaurs.
    Go to the Coliseum and wager you Imp Halberd to Cat Hood to Merit Award to Rename Card to Marvel Shoes to Tintinabar to Exp Egg. That might be out of order but that's the general deal.

  28. #28
    Guest
    Yeah, you got the order right. But here's an extended list:
    Imp Armor -> Tortoise Shld -> Titanium -> Cat Hood -> Merit Award -> Rename Card -> Marvel Shoes -> Tintinabar -> Exp. Egg -> Tintinabar

    Also note that:
    Aegis Shld -> Tortoise Shld
    Imp Halberd -> CatHood
    Elixir -> Rename Card
    Megalixir -> Tintinabar
