Something New, but I think it's taking time. What do you think?

For some reason, when I'm playing Final Fantasy, I'm the kind of guy who wants to level everyone up recently (for the record I'm not a noob, I just like doing that). In V, we have all of the different classes and for each of my characters, I have them leveling up in every single character. There is one main strong class for each character, but I level each one of them up in all of them in the event I need them.

My question is, is it worth leveling everyone in all the classes, so they're powerful in everything? Or should you limit each character with like 5 classes only and master those. I'm just curious what you guys do. I personally like just having my guys using all of the different classes...but then as the game progressed, I got lost....and I kept dying but that's a different story.

Anyways whatta think, level them all up evenly? Master a few classes? What is your opinion? Answer correctly and you'll win.....well I can't give anything away, but you will receive a high 5 *high 5*

If you'll only ever use (say) one white mage in any given battle, why train 4 white mages? Waste of effort. Specialise your classes. You'll gain nothing by being comprehensive in that regard.

yeah something like a white mage or something that's protective is a waste, I would only need one white mage. I'm talking about like dragoon, ninja, warrior, basically all of the offensive classes. Is it worth leveling everyone or just give certain character certain classes?

Depends what you want to do. For most purposes, any mix of two mages and two melee units is fine. Doesn't really matter what they are. I would still recommend keeping each character within classes unique to them. This ensures you get higher level abilities with minimal effort, and creates diversity in your abilities. So Bartz would be your only knight, dragoon and ninja, and Galuf your only unit trained in summoning and black magic. It doesn't make sense to have a summoner able to jump; so as your Galuf is foremost a summoner, you'd pick something complementary to back it up. It would be pointless ymto train a Mage character in melee classes as they generally offer low complementarity.

If that made sense. It's late at night and I had a long day. *_*

That makes total sense and I think I'll do what you recommend, Bartz will def be my main tank, I'll flip a coin for the other one. Thanks for the help. Even though I know what i'm doing, I'd still like to hear suggestions about where you do. Whose your main guy, your main mage, what classes. I'd like to know

Re: Something New, but I think it's taking time. What do you think?

In my current playthrough, here is what I have...

Bartz- Monk (has also trained in Thief)
Lenna- Summoner (has also trained in Black Mage)
Galuf- Berserker (has also trained in Monk)
Faris- Ranger (has also trained in Knight, Ninja, and Mystic Knight)

Now for the why. What I do when I first start the game is right down the stats of each character's Strength, Magic, Agility, and Stamina. This is while they are Freelancers. These stats do not change until you master a class. Also, I write these stats without weapons and equipment on the character's, to get the bare-bones stats. Then I noticed that Bartz's highest stat is strength, Lenna's is magic, Galuf's is Stamina, and Faris has a tie between Strength and Agility.

Now, I choose Jobs that boost their higher stats. That's why after the Wind Crystal broke; the Jobs were Thief (Bartz), Black Mage (Lenna), Monk (Galuf), and Knight (Faris). When the Water Crystal shattered, it became Monk (Bartz), Summoner (Lenna), Berserker (Galuf), and Ninja (Faris). When the Fire Crystal broke; Bartz, Lenna, and Galuf stayed the same, and Faris Became a Ninja. Finally, when the shards came out of the Chocobo, Faris then became a Ranger.

When the characters master a class, I will choose the next suitable Job for them to complete. That's how I like to do things.
