For Kain FF4, Abel's Lance does not give Kain the Dbl Jump ability. The Dragoon Gloves gives him that and I'm right about this cause I just checked. Just clarifying all that for ya :)!

I take that you are refering to his crush attack when he approaches the party, I am going to say that the only way to stop him from destroying your party is to simply kill him before he comes into range with that attack.
