    These types of questions (anything not FF related) must be asked in the "How Do I" forum. I'll go ahead and answer it here. Go to a particular forum that your thread is best suited for and at the top of the page there is a button that says "New Thread". Click on it. If a mod can take care of these posts then all will be well.

    Can someone tell me how can you get the LightBringer sword for Cecil? My cousin has a file on his game with Cecil equipped with the Lightbringer and I've been surfing through the web trying to find info on it but no knows about it. I think it has something to do with the Excaliber cause he doesn't have it in his inventory no more but I have no clue where to go/do. Advice anyone?

    this is what i found.

    It is obtained if the player successfully performs noble deeds, as is a Paladin's job, in Cecil's Lunar Trial

    but i am not sure because i am not to familiar with the DS versions of the game

    Wtf?????????

    OK. I got the Lightbringer now, but Lunar Odin's bitchass won't let me go ! He is hard as hell !!!! I beat him before but now he is like in a whole different league now!!! It's probably because in each game file, the diffuculty of it is tweaked a lil bit. But other than that I can't think of a strategy to defeat him because he's quicker then me. Tactics anyone?

    I think the only way I beat him was using a hell of a lot of X-Potions and Elixers. Cecil's magic is too weak to be worth it, and you want to stay in the top half of your HPs.

    One thing you could do, too, is say screw it until you see Brachiados again, and beat him to get the Hero's Shield. (I think that's what it's called.) Basically, it's the most kick-ass shield in the game, and it'd help an extreme amount against Lunar Odin.

    You're right though, he is a big pain in the ass. But the Lightbringer's awesome.

    Well, Lunar Odin will be hard if all your players have 3000hp or less. He uses Zatetsuken at the very start and that should kill of Rydia and Rosa. If that happens, you may want to level up more so they don't die(Rosa at least, she needs to be alive. Porm also works) Then cast slow on him and start attacking. He does cast holy so heal after. If you beat Kain trail this should be easy because his spear is thunder type(Odin is weak to) and DBL jump so he always did 9999. Get all people wih thunder attacks to use them. Yang should use Deadly(if you beat his trail) Watch out though, if you drag it on for to long, he will use Zatetsuken timly and if you drag it on for way to long, then he uses DOUBLE Zatetsuken

    Hey, I am at the point in the game where you are about to go to Missidia (after you emerge from the underworld), and I already gave the smith the ore. So, when will I get my Excalibur?

    Also, will I ever be able to heal Palom and Porom from their stone status/will they ever be back in my party?

    Will Yang ever come back to my party? I already hit him over his head with the pan, then got the knife, so, will he ever come back?

    If the answer to these questions reveals a big part of the plot/gameplay, please don't tell me the details, I would like just yes or no (unless you can tell me without killing the rest of the game for me). Thank you!!

    EDIT:

    Oh, and I am playing the PS1 version, I don't know if the answer is different between platforms, but whatever.

    in GBA version you can get the characters back, in PS and DS you are stuck with the core 5 by the end of the game. You get your sword after you beat a rather big series of bosses, it must have been a balancing thing. My first play through i would keep backtracking to the smith every time I finished a plot event that included a boss fight. I won't say more lest I spoil you.

    I'm playing the DS version of FFIV, and I'm totally stuck on the earth fiend (what is her name? Barberica?) that you fight right after you get Rosa & Kain in your party.
    Cecil is Lv 32,
    Cid is Lv 32
    Yang is Lv 34
    and Tellah is Lv 34.

    Seeing as you claim to be my neptune I figure I can throw in my 2 cents and try to help out.

    1: Barbariccia is a wind elemental not an earth (keep that in mind)
    Remove Tellah and replace him with Kain
    Have shell and protect on everyone
    Have Yang focus 2-3 rounds then let him attack
    When she takes to the air have Kain bust her back down again with Jump
    Other then that have pleanty of cure items and white magic availible.
    Probably will take a while to defeat her but this tactic worked for me if I remember correctly.

    there are hints in the thought bubbles of all the characters. Change who is seen with Y and look at what they are all thinking with X. If you ever wonder what to do next it will help you. Also, a few things you probably haven't done but should:

    1) visit the elder in Mysidia
    2) backtrack in the underground water passage to the first room (from the end) with water. Look for an area that sparkles
    3) return to where you fought the dark elf

    Tails are dropped by 4 different dragons (Green, Yellow, Blue--not the ice ones, the electrical one on the way to the summoned monsters--and red). I haven't gotten it but what was called the Red Giants (Armored fiends?) drop a tail, and just as in the original Flan princesses (that rare jelly monster you can only find in one room that casts Beserk on your entire party) drop a tail too. What do they give you? Onion equipment (which is kinda nice, but weird since it varies with character level, and the shield gives no evade, the gloves do?!?!) and the pink tails give you some awesome armor. The best part of tails in the DS version is that they carry over (as to the stuff you get for them) between play throughs. This means that Adaman Armor--that gives +15 to all stats, 100 defense/magic defense, a bunch of evade, ribbon stats protection and 1/2 all elements--can be put that on anyone but Dark knight Cecil from the beginning (but be careful not to lose it...).

    So why haven't you seen them yet? Well, you will see them in the Bestiary, but getting them in your inventory is a different story. The normal drop rate is 1/256, which if you remember your probability class will take close to 500 battles before you have any reasonable chance of seeing it. With Treasure hunter (map the entire game...) the probability doubles to 1/128. Still abysmal, but you only have to kill like 200-300 of each monster before you start to see the tails drop. How do you do it? Sirens in the correct areas. Takes hours and all of your gold to get them all (I didn't bother with Onion armor, since the pink tails give something better) but I did: 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 blue, 2 red and 5 pink. I almost think that the 2 red(Onion sword, +33str, 198 attack 149 hit at level 99) and 5 pink are necessary to beat the 2 bonus bosses without a ton of luck.

    How do you kill Golbez the first time.
    Oh and how many summons are there?(I know there might be a spoiler problem but my friend asked me to)

  19. #19
    Golbez: He uses Barrier shift. This is the exact same spell as in FF 6, if you played it. It makes him absorb all but one element, but be weak to that one that he doesn't absorb. It is a counter attack to whatever element he was weak to so you on ly have one chance to hit him. There are bestiaries and Libra spells on Cecil and Rosa (if you revive her). In this game the weaknesses of the enemies appear in the bottom screen when you are targeting the enemy/ally once you cast Libra/etc. It is really a battle that should get you exercising all of Rydia's strong elemental summons:

    Shiva = ice
    Ifrit = Fire
    Ramuh = lightning
    Dragon = Holy
    Titan = Earth

    As for all the summons:

    Chocobo
    Goblin*
    Bomb*
    Mindflayer*
    Cockatrice*
    Shiva
    Ramuh
    Ifrit
    Titan
    Dragon
    Ashura
    Leviathan
    Sylph
    Bahamut
    and Whyt (or whatever name you give it)

    * -> 1/256 chance drop on those enemies, check the bestiary

    Yeah this boss battle is pretty hard. Would you believe the one after is even HARDER?!? I just beat it last night.

    My characters are in their Fifties (Cecil pushing past 60). I didn't have Bahamut. I had some good equipment on Cecil, Rydia, and Rosa, but Edge only had a BB Uniform, so he had pretty poor Magic Defense.

    Yeah the last two are a REAL pain. You really have to rely on Rydia and her Leviathan Summon for Barbaccia. Try to have Haste cast on her and Summon like crazy. Have Rosa do NOTHING but either Curaja or Arise (simply skip her if you don't need her, but get ready to skip TO her when you do)

    For Rubicante, Cecil is more useful here. I replaced Cecil's Cover with the Draw Attacks augment and had him set with Counter as Rubicante will actually do Physical Attacks. It's a good idea to just have him defend to do Counter Attacks. But do the same as I suggested for Barbaccia except make sure you cast Leviathan when he is NOT hiding behind his cloak or else it'll heal him. He'll also counter by doing Blizzara on himself doing more damage (if he's hiding behind his cloak, he'll merely heal himself)

    As for the battle right after that. Ignore Fusoya, he's a liar. DO NOT go after the Defense Node, go after the Attack Node instead. Dish out Rydia's Ramuh Summon over and over. Yeah it'll heal the Defense Node, but it'll hurt the other two. When the Attack Node is gone, do NOT go after the Defense Node just focus on the CPU, Rydia's Ramuh does far more damage than node can keep up with by healing. Then merely attack the Defense Node.

    Oh and we have a help thread, so I'm going to merge that there okay?

    Thanks for the advise.
    I just finished the boss the other day.
    And I figured out how to beat the CPU easier!!

    There are three balls, right?
    Well the one on the left is the attacking ball, the one on the right is the healing ball, (that heals the big ball.) and the big ball just sits there until you kill both the small balls.
    Then it goes after you with big attacks.

    I tried a couple times and then died BUT if you KILL the ball on the left as soon as possible, then only the small healing ball and the big one are there.

    The balls wont do anything but heal the big one so cast haste (or Hastmarch the Bardsong, if you got the augument) on everyone and just keep hacking away at the big ball.

    The small ball will heal the big one slowly but if you keep attacking the big one you'll soon beat it and then all you have to do is the small one. SO, no big attack to kill you and you get a lot of exp!! =P

    I got it too, I'm pretty sure it lets a character learn Edge's Ninjutsu techniques.

    Is it something similar to "Smut" in older versions?

    You know, like "Kama Sutra", but "Ninja Sutra"?
