The things I liked the most were the simplicity of the gameplay, the fact that its story didn't need to be in depth to pull you in, and also its ending. I never saw that particular plot aspect coming before the final battle, so needless to say I found it impressive. I also find it considerably quicker to complete than its sequels (the remakes of it, anyway), so if I wish to play it again it wouldn't take as much commitment as you would expect an RPG to these days.

Because some things were really hard to figure out. At least for me. Like for example, finding the airship. I only found it by accident when walking onto that desert. Also, the extra dungeons in the PSP editions were epic.

the fact that the story was so simple. its one of those games i can use to kill time here and there without having to get too invested in the story.

It took everything I loved about Dragon Warrior and expanded upon it.
