Probably, but that's cool. I actually just played Dawn of Souls: FF1 yesterday.
I was playing FF I on my PS the other day and I used an X-Potion on one of my allies and it restored 999 HP, the ally didn't have 99 HP Btw, then I used Curaja on the same ally and it restored 9999 HP, so if you can only have up to 999 HP max, why would Curaja restore 9999 HP? Is there a HP Limit Exceed waiting to be found or something?

Call me Silver.
I'm not sure, but I know for a fact the max HP in Origins IS 999HP, and impossible to get anymore than that limit.
I think I'm beginning to understand. An answer from the Planet, the Promised Land...I think I can meet her...there.
Its just the damage max in reverse. I think the damage max is 9999 so healing as always is reverse damage. I think so anyway...
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
No, max damage in FFI is 999.

It's probably because the final boss:
Spoiler: Garland/Chaos
also uses Curaja. And since he has 20000 HP, Curaja needs to restore a lot. But, it seems like overkill to me, Curaga can only restore about 300-350 HP, and then a sudden boost to 9999 HP makes it seem less like its random, and more constricted.
I'm going through a bit of a The World Ends With You phase right now.Click THERE:
wow that really is a strange happening
Well doen't it day in the spell description of Curaja fully restores your health? I could understqand 999 but 9999..
