Where exactly is the entrance to the water dungeon in Onrac? I don't have it here with me, and I'm limited to what pages I can view, but is that the town with the brooms and the dragon walking around, or is that Gaia?

Onrac leads to the Water Shrine.

At the far right of Onrac will be a dock. At the dock will be a man blocking a floating barrel*. If you have the Oxyale and talk to him, he'll move out of the way, allowing you into the barrel. Since you have the Oxyale, you do not drown as the party sinks in the barrel to explore the underwater level.

*Note- this may be some sort of vehicle, such as a miniature submarine. I seem to remember it being a barrel though.

It's been a good while since somebody posted here... luckily I have a corcern eh ???

I want to know something about the Water Shine's treasure room. I have done this on the NES before but it's vague to remember EXACTLY what I did to get there. Ok when you first enter the 5F, your able to obtain all the treasure in that room but the upper right corner room (in which I have no idea where to get to because it leads off into another room or stairs that leads to it). Then you have the left side in which you can obtain pieces of the Diamond armor set and the Rosetta Stone (I'm speaking in the DOS GBA version) but you can't get to the rest of the treasure rooms. I've gotten to that side before on the NES but I can't quite remember HOW I did it.

Does someone have ANY knowledge to these secluded 5F treasure rooms???

If it's the room with the mermaids you are talking about you have to go to the upper left corner there is a passage that connects to the left side (I'm playing the nes version though so I don't know if it's different for you)

Well, the best person on YouTube, and for that specific game, is this guy.
    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Follow that playlist to the last episode. He's very good at what he does. And it's the NES version he's playing, so... Good luck.

I have a question, is there a point of no return in FF1? Because i'm pretty sure i'm nearing the end (i'm at the Mirage Tower), and I don't wanna miss out on getting the bestiary, items, and artwork completed, yeah i'm playing the Origins remake.

    Thanks!

Once you finish the Mirage Tower/Floating Castle, the Chaos Shrine is the final area. You wrap into past to continue the game, but I believe you can wrap back to finish up any quests you needed to do, my memory is alittle fluzzy on that but I believe you can return to finish things once you make it to the final area.

This may be a stupid question, but... are there any "original names" of the characters? I was quite shocked when I saw that I had to name ALL of my characters. I'm the kind of person who likes to stick with the names given to them by the creators.
So I just auto-selected the names. But I'm still not sure if the first that appeared are to be seen as "original names"? .-."

Those monsters represent nothing more than an optional fight, they're just there to test your strength, with each crystal you'll be able to encounter a stronger ones.

You must concentrate now on finding the second crystal, the fire crystal. It's located all the way to the southeast, open your map and check which dot is most to the southeast, take your ship and go there. The fire crystal is in Mt. Gulg right near the Crescent Lake where you can buy new weapon/armor and magic.

    I have a question,

    Q. I'm at the final dungeon, my characters are all level 35, and I want to max them out to 50 before I carry on playing, what is the best place in the game to get good EXP at this stage? I mean, the dungeon i'm currently in is quite good, but the EXP is still lacking. Any ideas?

    I haz a question

I got the GBA version, and I'm kind of wondering how the magic works, I see that you buy all magic like with V but I noticed that there's only 3 slots for a level. I only have a red mage at the moment, so does that mean you have to pick and choose only 3 for a level? and does that mean you can't really have one user master all the magic for that job?

For example if I teach my red mage (named him Psiko btw ) 3 spells for level one I'm guessing he can't learn the others that are available right? so can someone else learn the spells he didn't?

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

    Re: FFI Help Thread

To answer your question Mel, this is how magic works. You walk into either a black magic shop or a white magic shop. You only have 3 slots you can buy spells in (i would recommend getting at least 1 white spell and 2 black spells for each slot or you can just do it whatever way you want). When your mage gains more levels you can use higher level spells and you can buy higher level spells as well. In the original games you had a limited number of times you could use that level spell but in the GBA version it was revamped to be like the typical FF games of now where you have both hp and mp. Last of all, no one gains abilites in the game like you're thinking of, but later in the game, your warriors and thieves gain the abilty to use up to like level 3 spells. warriors white, thieves black. Does that answer your question?

Yes, they do. It's just like a spiked square since you don't "talk" to the fiend.

Hi, I am new to FFI. I started to play few days ago in iPhone and now I need directions. I started with party Figter, Monk, WMage, BMage - don't know if that is good. Monk at least seems to lag behind and is always in trouble.

I started by going to the castle and then I had a mission to defeat Garland. Did that too. Then I started wandering around because I didn't know what to do. I found a city (can't rememeber the name) where I defeated a pirate and got a ship. I have been wandering around since then but I have no idea what to do. I have found few cities and caves but I am stuck.

    Re: FFI Help Thread

Ok. So I managed to continue from that above^

I found Marsh Cave where I defeated some monsters and found a crown. Then I returned the crown for its owner who attacked me and got slain. From there I managed to get back to elven lands to revive the queen. So I am slowly progressing, but still uncertain where to head now.. I am just running through all places again if I have missed something...

And I still haven't figured out my monk. It sucks

    Re: FFI Help Thread

So your monk does NOT need weapons or armor, except for maybe a bracelet. As far as progression goes, Matoya should've given you an elixir for the dwarf prince. Save him and he should give you the MysticKey. Now go back to all the other areas that were inaccessible because of locked doors. Once you do that, you should have acquired the Gunpowder. Take the Gunpowder to the dwarf cave and a new pathway shall be opened. Tis all downhill from there.

    Re: FFI Help Thread

Hey guys. I'm playing FF1 on my iPad and I was wondering if there was a good place to grind and level up my lvl 56 team.

I just went up against Chaos last night, and I was holding my own, but just when I thought I was making a dent, he goes and heals himself for like all of his missing hit points. I'm sure it didn't help that my Black Wizard did not have Flare(Nuke) at the time. Anyways, I figure if I wasn't wasting so much time healing and reviving fallen team mates, I might have been able to do it. So if anyone could give me advice on where I can build up my teams skills, I'd really appreciate it.

    Re: FFI Help Thread

I personally like the area around the Mirage Tower. I remember grinding levels fighting monsters in the desert around there as well as inside the first floor or two. But I've never played the newer editions, so there could be better locations that I don't know anything about...

Also, you should get NUKE, and make sure you have the Masamune sword along the way to Chaos. He is a tough battle, for sure, but far from being the worst in the Final Fantasy series. Good luck, and with some perserverence you'll pull it off eventually!

    What is your party?
OLD SKOOL - A positive appellation referring to when things weren't flashy but empty of substance, were done by hard work, didn't pander to the lowest common denominator, and required real skill. Labour-saving devices, shortcuts that reduce quality and quitting before the task is done are not characteristics of "old skool."

In reference to computer games, refers to a game that had substantial playability without flashy graphics or eye candy. Old skool gamers appreciate difficult maneuvers, careful planning, and scorched earth policies.

In reference to role-playing games, old skool refers to games that tested players' wits, could kill off careless characters, and required dedication and inner strength to play. Old skool games didn't pander to the ideas that everyone is created equal, that all options are open to all races, that the markets were somehow free, and that a quasi-medieval society could have near 100% literacy.

    Thanks for the reply.

Currently, I'm just grinding random encounters on the 3rd floor of the Chaos Shrine/Temple of Fiends and making decent XP that way.

I do now have Nuke (Flare in the iOS version) and I also have Masamune.

I have the Knight, Ninja, and the Black & White Wizards. When she wasn't healing, I had my White Wizard casting HOLY (which I think was FADE in the NES version). If Chaos didn't have the ability to heal himself, I could have taken him. lol

edit: I also majorly screwed up by selling my Ribbons because I didn't know that they were for.
