Okay, so whilst I was searching these forums today I realised that we have had a few topics on peoples best game. We even have on our profiles our favourite Final Fantasy. Then I thought it would a fun idea to find out what game would win if they all got the vote. If I miss any major games types- let me know.
I guess the first stage would be to pick groups. I came up with:-
Best Fighting Game
Best FPS
Best RPG
Best Sports Based Game
Best Tactics Game
Best Platformer
Best Adventure Game
Best Survival Horror
Best Point and Click Game
Best Puzzle-Based Game
Best Strategy Game
And to narrow down the best of the best:-
Best Final Fantasy Game
Best New Gen Game
Best Retro Game
Best Game Series
Best Visual Effects in a Game (for its time)
Best Game Of All Time
After I've received votes I'll enter them as a list for each category and then enter them for voting (like with the TFF awards). After this I will give 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to each group and post it up here.
EDIT: Before somebody says that Tactics and Strategy should be in the same category; I know, but I want clear boundaries between certain games. I don't want Rise of Nations competing against Final Fantasy Tactics. This is because the game-play is clearly different.
