What is the last steam game (or game pack) you have either downloaded for free or purchased? what are your thoughts on your purchase? would you recommend the game to anyone? and what kind of screen resolution do you attempt to play it on?

My latest download is Ys Origin, I thoroughly enjoy this game. You initially have a choice of 2 different characters to play as, each having their own storyline. There is one other character but you have to unlock him in order for him to be playable. The story is set 700 years before the original Ys game. It explains the history of Ys and the goddesses who govern the land, along with their economy, why the demons attacked, and any other thing that wasn't elaborated on in the original game. The game's genre is action rpg and it plays similar to zelda with the hack-and-slash gameplay and puzzle solving.

I personally think the game's storyline was really well written, it also has a great soundtrack which adds nicely to the game's atmosphere, the game is a bit on the linear side but there are plenty of places to explore in the game's environment. The whole game takes place in a giant tower but each floor has a different theme making it look like you walked into different dungeons. In summary, I recommend this game, its only 19.99 in the store and its well worth the price.

As for what I play the game on, I either play it straight from my laptop or when I want to play it like a console game, I plug my laptop to either a 22" monitor or 40" LCD TV and set the in-game resolution settings to hi definition (and boy does it look beautiful!).
