Hi Everyone,

I am new.

Sorry for dim question but quite keen to buy a Final Fantasy game but have x box and struggling to find version 7 and 8 for it. Is it the later versions that are available ?

I normally play Oblivian and thought Final Fantasy might be quite good.

The only Final Fantasy games available for the Xbox are Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIII, so if you want to play the other games, you should probably get yourself another console.

VII and VIII are PSX games, but you can download them to a PSP or PS3 through the PSN if you have one or get one.

If this person is at all serious, try anything from Mistwalker. The guy who created Final Fantasy owns them and they make decent games.

Final Fantasy VII and VIII for Xbox? They came WAY before Xbox's time. >.<
I'm struggling to find the PC version for both of them because I believe PC gaming is better than console gaming.

Actually the PC version of FFVII and FFVIII are garbage, settings are horrible, also good luck with a lot of problems with the graphics in game. You are better off getting a PS1 emulator.

true..true..i have FFVIII for the PC and Ive played it about 2-3 hours because the controls and graphic is horrable. Also, when u summon someone and want to boost its damage you have to press the "E" buttor really fast...its hard as fu(k and you may break ur keyboard

Also, why play FF on an xbox. Preorder FFXIII for SNES!
Comes with a free wiistrap, (surplus from Battletoads Wii Edition if I understand correctly).

Actually, the graphics are little bit better better due to the higher resolution, also you can always download a patch to enhance the graphics even more (I did this with Final Fantasy VII). Final Fantasy VIII has high quality videos on PC which isn't the case with the PS1 version. I must agree with you, the controls suck, but you can always buy a decent joypad, actually you can buy joypad identical to the one from PS1, really cheap.

When did you last play both the PC versions. If you have Vista or higher VIII is going to have black lines every where. It will take a bit to find out how to fix it. VII didn't have many problems except the sound settings and I just hated it on full screen.

I played both on XP, I haven't encountered any problems while playing Final Fantasy VIII but I did with Final Fantasy VII, eventually I downloaded XP patch to fix the problem. Funny that you mention Vista, my Final Fantasy VII works perfectly fine on it, but I yet need to test Final Fantasy VIII since my copy doesn't work anymore.

I never said there was a problem with VII. Out of the 3 sound settings, 2 work and 1 of those 2 sounds garbage. VIII is the one that has had the most problems beyond XP.
