I like the 3d. It makes you pay more attention on what is going on in the games
I've noticed when like top down games like
metal gear solid,
resident evil,
and final fantasy
transition to full 3D,
like the camera following behind you and stuff.
it sorta loses its edge.
like i really didn't like FF XII (sorry)
and metal gear you really had to have a full view of like every thing.
I really just was wondering if it was just me? so... yea.

At the end of the day, it comes down to one hero to save us all.
Interesting thought...
I never thought of it like that... but I don't think it bothers me. The only kind of cam angles that bug me is when you see through their eyes and all you see is your arm xD I can't ever adjust to that... feels wrong. Even though you see through the eyes you don't have the realistic movement... <_< Or maybe I just moan too much

I like Resident Evil transition to full 3D.Because of that gamplay was much better than in the old Resident Evil games. But I didn't liked full 3D view in Final Fantasy XII.The reason?Well I simply don't know why.Maybe I played to much older FF games.
I get ya. Although I can enjoy a good FPS with a good story, I think the "seeing through their eyes" isn't suited for RPGs.
I think the main reason for the first-person view to be awkward, is because in real life, you can see what's in front of you but also what's on both your sides.
The only solution would be a curved tv, but that ain't gonna happen
