Square Enix has Another New Project to Announce

Quick off their announcement of the latest Deus Ex game, they already have a new teaser site up for something else. The site only has a single image with little else to go on at the moment. There is only the letters, S A R and the numbers 01 01. Current speculation is that this may be an announcement for a new Star Ocean game, as S A R could be Star, the planet is what looks like an ocean and the 01 01 is binary for 5, which if there was a new Star Ocean game it would be the fifth in the series.

This would be awesome. Looks like square is getting their priorities in order. A new entry to the SO series would be very welcomed.

Although im still hanging for that FF7 remake. And no, I will not shutup about it.

Yeah, I really enjoy the Star Ocean series and a good sci-fi JRPG would be very welcome. I really missed not having anymore.

Half Life 3 confirms itself. ^^; But according people mining the site code, it looks like we might know more about what's going on with this game on the 13th, so Monday.

Final Fantasy 16!

With how long it's been since the announcement of 15....

Well it was originally Versus XIII rather than 15, only been two years since it was 15. Though we are due for a tease of XVI at this point. I'm guessing we won't see it until near the release of XV. I don't know if they'll different teams or keep the same team from XV on XVI. If they want to put out more games, it'd be better to have different teams working on different numbered FF. Though it would also mean that we'd end up with very different games. Not that that's a problem.

Im still not over the 'exciting announcement' square made a while back about FF7 coming to the ps4... Then disappointment ensued.

I would be willing to go with the guess that it is star ocean. Then again I have been wrong before. Maybe a new IP with a Star in the title?

Could they, possibly, be somehow working with Sega on a Phantasy Star title?

knowing square though, its probably gonna hit mobile. I don't like this direction they are heading.

They've been doing more things on consoles lately. But mobile is huge in Japan and very successful. Which hurts us a lot, since it often means we don't get the games, even if we want them. I'd like to think we'd still get Star Ocean on the consoles.

The site is updated now to say "STAR" and "2015" and "0" and "1" So the signs of Star Ocean gets stronger, but it is still up in the air. Tomorrow seems to be the next update.

One more update, it says "START" now and a date of 04/15/2015, so tomorrow. The image updated as well with it zooming out more showing space, a galaxy perhaps and some more planets or celestial bodies. Whatever it is, space is definitely a part of what the game is going to be, or one might called it an ocean of stars. >.>

I just hope they make it more like Star Ocean 2 and less like 4. To me, the dialogue and cutscenes were a little rough and could have been more polished, and the story was alright, but the gameplay was interspersed between awesome and meh.

I'd still prefer Chrono 3

Well, thank god it isn't an Xbox exclusive -_- I don't care HOW reliable the new consoles are. How Microsoft handled the Xbox 360 disaster made me throw almost all respect I had for them out the window >_> Maybe I'm over reacting. But when the 360 had those problems, they shouldn't have waited 5 years to redesign the console.

I remember playing one of the star ocean games when I was little. I think it was 2 on PSP and I remember really enjoying it but I forgot about it till this thread. Now I might have to hunt around for those games in anticipation of this one coming out =D

I enjoyed Star Ocean 3 a lot, it was also the first one I played. But I haven't played 1 or 2 yet. So I only have 3 and 4 as a comparison. Given more time to look at the screenshots and talking people, it looks like story-wise, this might be formated like Star Ocean 1, I think, where you were the native and some space traveler shows up. Because it looks like all of the characters shown fit the world they are on and the one sci-fi looking environment that they were all in had them looking very nervous and foreign.

But I'm looking forward to this a lot, another game for my PS4.

Since it is a big JRPG announcement and a Square game, I made a separate news post to highlight the news for anyone that isn't reading this thread.

Not really a fan of the chosen style of animation. Although its refreshing to see a new entry to the series. Ill certainly pick this up for the ps4 once its released.

It looks a lot like the style from Star Ocean 4 from what I remember. But another console JRPG is always welcome.
