    Retro-Gaming

I've just now really come to grips with this. I try to avoid games that I've played and beaten, specially games that have little or no replay value. But I've been living through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Time, Megaman 1-6, Megaman X-6, Final Fantasy 4, Crystalis and more.

I've recently started playing through the flash equivalents of the old NES games, as well. I don't think it's cool to link to the site, seeing I'm not up to speed on the legality issues. Either way, what games from your childhood deserve a second visit?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Time
    Megaman 1-6
    Megaman X-6
    Final Fantasy 4
    Crystalis
    Godzilla: King of Monsters
    A Boy and his Blob
    Metal Gear
    CastleVania
    DuckTales
    Donkey Kong Country
    Splatterhouse 1-3
    Metal Combat 1&2
    Mystic Quest

    Re: Retro-Gaming

Last night, my friends and I played through the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game. That game was fricken' tough, too; good thing we had unlimited continues! That was a fun game, though. Though it's probably more fun in the arcade. Also, recently was playing Earthbound again.

Other games I think I maybe should give another play are...

Dragon Warrior: One of my favorite RPG's back in the day.
Crystalis: Even though I beat it again last year. That game is awesome, and one of my favorites to this day.
Super Mario World: Another of my favorites to this day.
Super Metroid: Ditto. I tried starting it again last year, too. Felt really rusty at the controls.
The Star Tropics games were always a lot of fun, too. They probably deserve another play (especially the first one, which I never beat; got stuck where a robot requires you input a code for him, because I didn't know the friggen' code.)

Lots of others. The trouble is, I've already replayed a lot of them recently, heh. Anyhoo...

    Re: Retro-Gaming

For the past few weeks, I have been playing some more of my older games, mostly because I don't have a means to pick up anything new right now, but also because sometimes it's great to go back and play the games that you grew up with, even if there is really no replay value to be had.

As of now, here's what I have got:

    Earthbound
    Illusion of Gaia
    Yoshi's Island
Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars

If N64 titles count as a "retro game" then I also have Majora's Mask I'm playing through.

Heh... I'm really wanting to play Donkey Kong Country now, but I don't have a copy of that anymore... That was a really fun game. Super Mario World sounds like it would be fun to pick up and play again too.

    Re: Retro-Gaming

I should probably make my input in this thread. I'm big on classic games and I've been playing them alot especially on this vacation I'm on. Here are the titles I'm going through:

    Yoshi's Island
    Kirby's Dreamland 3
    E.V.O The Search for Eden
    Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
    EarthBound

and I think I might start up a nice game of Terranigma.

    Re: Retro-Gaming

Well via my name, one can tell that this is the perfect thread for me.

I enjoy all the Mega Man games. I'm bad at the TMNT, Double Dragon, and games like that. I still like to play them, whipping out the GG to cheat. Emulation save states are a savior to me as I have a horrific handwriting. That's my excuse for saving at points even when a password won't continue you from that point, and for games that don't have a password.

I created a club on this too for the NES. I also take hundreds of screenshots for the site I staff at. Games I suck at also I use the Genie for said purpose of screenshot grabbing.
