I am not that huge of a MK fan but my love for fighting games takes over anytime I see a new one is coming out. And, there is no doubt that this game is going to be incredibly good. However, I am hoping that it can stand up to Armageddon(my personal favorite). But, since some of the original creators and engines will be making their return, I think that the game will blow it out of the water.
The fatalities are going to kick some major ass!!
My jaw is dropped and is resting on the desk in front of me. That looks amazing! I love how it is classic gameplay but with some really great updates. I have been slightly disappointed with MK after about MK 4 really (except for MK v DC, that was good), so to think that it's going back to basics with the 2D style, but 3D graphics is great for a longtime fan such as myself and others.
I am very excited to be a gamer in 2011!

All I have to say is wow those are some of the sweetest fatalities ever!! My favorite right now is Kung Lao's but I haven't seen any Sub Zero ones so I'm waiting for him bc he's my favorite character in the series.

So we have a game that mixes the core experience of Mortal Kombat II (arguably the best MK ever), give it some of the stuff from later games (such as the weapons and the combo system,rippedborrowed from Soul Calibur and Tekken), take most if not all of the fan faves (specifically the iconic Sub-Zero and Scorpion)...
...take all the gore, Fatalities and actual combat and crank it up to twelve? My gosh, Midway has finally reached the 21st century in fighting games!
So it's obvious that with Capcom releasing both MvC 3 and SFxT/TxSF, Midway wants to deliver a much more gruesome experience, really make the most memorable MK game ever. They got rid of 3D (good), and returning to a MK II experience (great) but with eye-popping stuff (awesome, just look at the internal organ damage!), so this must be good for something, right?
Also...does anyone thinks Midway made the tag battle system JUST to have an excuse for a future Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat game?

I'll be honest I had given up completely on Midway, and the MK series. After Armageddon, and MK Vs. DC how could I not. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed using Batman but the superheroes took away from the MK experiance. But this game looks promising. I will have to take a deeper look into it.
