Will they make us replay this 4 times to finish the game as well?
Square Enix released a new trailer today for the sequel to Bravely Default, Bravely Second. The new game feature a new character along with returning Agnes and the hint near the end of more characters from the first game returning as well. Most of the trailer shows off the cast and voice actors, but there are clips of gameplay cut throughout the trailer to get a feel of the game.

Never played the original so I'm not sure what happened. Sounds rough having complete it multiple times if I'm understanding things. Square just needs to release this game on something that isn't a handheld, since a Vita release is never going to happen.

Yeah, I remember everyone saying it had a classic old school feel to the whole thing that people enjoyed. And the first game sold far better than Square expected it to do. Which is why they're making a sequel and made the comment that they're planning to make more RPGs that are more like what they used to make.

I like the sound of that, I just dont understand why they didnt keep going with that frame of mind in the first place.
It probably had to do with them thinking that they needed to branch out and try to do other things to appeal to more people. There was a push that the Western developers were leading the charge and that the Japanese developers were stand stilling. So it started many companies trying to change their approach, when the reason they were popular to begin with was because of how they were.
The other thing is that I think a lot of people feel that the JRPG is dead and won't sell big anymore. Which is not true, you just need a good game that make people excited and have fun again.
