Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds - Are you ready, True Believers?
Dormammu looks fun and appears to have quite a bit of potential, but I'm sad to see that it looks like Thor probably won't be a high tier character, he just seems to slow.
And what was that move that Chun Li used at 2:45 in the video? with the red aura that let her recover health, how do you do that?
EDIT: even though I was a big fan of MvC2s funky jazz battle music, I kinda like how they went back to MvC1 with having each character with their own theme music while fighting, feels more nostalgic man :)

I'll probably be wrong, considering how the game is fully developed, but Dormammu WILl be top tier.
Mostly because of the moves. One is basically a barrier, the other a distance grab, and there was one of the videos that basically combined it; use them in tandem, and you'll have the enemy locked.
Now, that does depend on how the moves will work with Advancing Guard, and whether other characters will have abilities that can bypass that barrier, which could reduce points to Dormammu. However, I can see some sort of locking as that of Sentinel in MvC2.

That move is called X-Factor (if you watch this older clip, Deadpool does it and yells out "ANIME POWER UP $HIT!="=. It's a special Once-per-match powerup intended for tide turning. raises speed and attack, recovers health, and I believe it let's you cancel supers into other supers. Still being worked on. In the E3 build you could ONLY do it if you were down to one character, but they've changed it to be anytime, just once per match. Some people were saying it's crazy broken, so it most likely will get fixed over time.
And yeah, agreed with the themes, so great to have those back. Not merely composition wise, but just a tried and true "VS" staple making a comeback after MvC2.

Seriously I LOVE the style used in these cutscenes, I'd happily pay admission to see this as a full length movie.

I watched it. TWICE! :) Pretty impressive overall, but I thought it was great seeing Ammy and Joe together. What was really cool was when
SPOILER!!:
Morrigan caught Ammy when she was falling. Awww~ :3
Watched it again and also read some of the comments left on the site. Who's this Tron Bonne character that people are going crazy over? I don't know who she is... :o

She's the beloved anti-hero from the Mega Man Legends games. She even got her own really fun spinoff title called the Misadventures of Tron Bonne. She was also in Marvel vs Capcom 2, so chances are, she'll be very similar here.
Oh and there seems to be a new character silhouette at the end. A lot of people including me are speculating that it's She Hulk. Hopefully we found out who at TGS next week.

Well looks like we might know who that Marvel female is.
Capcom just confirmed via Twitter, that X-23 is joining the cast for the Marvel side. No footage yet.
She's the female Wolverine clone that first debuted in the animated X-Men Evolution series and then migrated over to the comic books.
A lot of people are bashing her because she's "OMG IT'S THE TWO WOLVERINES ALL OVER AGAIN!" But she's actually sports a different fighting style than him and if TvC is any indication they can make her quite the unique character from Wolverine.
X-23 looks amazing! Her theme is <3. Plus Tron is absolute hype too ^.^

Bumping this because two more fighters just got announced this morning as being playable in the game: Spiderman (from Spiderman...duh :p) and Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series!
Here's some vids of them both if anyone is interested:
EDIT:: Wow... According to Siliconera, this announcement was a rather low-key one... The only reason a lot of websites know about it is because of the footage provided by Gamespot. Wonder what's up with that?

Wesker? thats pretty random haha. I guess he deserves a spot in the ring. I'm not very RE literate so I have very little knowledge of the games.

Beat me to it Dodie :P
I'm thrilled they got Josh Keaton to do the voice. I just love how they're really getting significant VAs and not just random unknowns for most of the Marvel cast like in past games.
Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds - Are you ready, True Believers?
Agent Wesker, eh? That's awesome. His walk speed looks kinda slow, but looks like his run is pretty fast-just like in his last appearance, eh? Stalk around the room, only to burst forward real quick and do an attack. If I get this game, he will probably be on my team. So I want to use Wesker, Deadpool... and Ammy, I guess. Wonder if that team will work. Might not be balanced.
There was someone I thought would be cool for this game, but I forget who... Sigma? Don't remember if I said that before. But yeah; why not a Megaman villain? Especially a kickass one like him. Anyhoo...

Hmm...Sigma, now that's a quality choice. He pretty much has his attack set established (air-dashing, sword slices much like Dante, perhaps some projectile attacks) and his super attacks would reference most of his older super-bodies.
If they make a reference to the Capcom C2 chip while at that, it'll be golden.
Though...still sad that Capcom has decided to vehemently deny the existence of Breath of Fire. What I would give to see at least as an assist Dragon Ryu (or at least a reference to the series!)
...that reminds me, is there any on the Capcom team with wisecrack jokes? Spider-Man and Deadpool seem the kind of team made in heaven (an incorrigible jokester and a psychotic but good-natured mercenary...with mouths bigger than their heritage...)

I'm all for Sigma being in the game. What about vile? I think he would be another good choice.
I'm also for Ryu from Breath of Fire, how will people who never heard of either this character or ryu from street fighter be able to tell them apart though?

Perhaps they'll call him "Mike", just like in BoF II? Or perhaps use "Ryu" on a different style or something. The idea is that they will play very differently (one will use the classic Hadoken, Shoryuuken and Tatsumaki-Senpu-Kyaku, while the other will probably use Flame Strike, Frost Strike, Thunder Strike, Wind Strike, Searing Sand...
And of course, the two finishers (or maybe three): Super Combo, Disembowel and Kaiser Transformation. Maybe also have Shadowwalk as a regular move (teleportation attack FTW!)

Actually, recent comments from Seth and Nitsuma have moreorless confirmed we're getting around 40.
Also Marvel AGAIN accidentally leaked 2 more characters that were to be revealed tomorrow
Magento and M.O.D.O.K.
Oh, look! It's...Bionic Commando and Ghouls & Goblins (& Ghosts).
The inclusion of Rad Spencer is decent (specially because he totally trolls Scorpion), and the entry of Arthur is both surprising and irritating. Arthur looks and plays awesome because it's like playing the original game, except without the Nintendo Hard difficulty. Plus, the remake of the Ghouls & Ghosts tune is definitely one good inclusion.
Yet, I will not be satiated until Breath of Fire gets its due. Darn, if not Ryu, at least put Myria as the final boss...with Deis/Bleu being the one that binds all heroes. Come on, Capcom, I know you can do it!

Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds - Are you ready, True Believers?
BoF won't be getting its due. It's kinda pointless to even think that it is. It's not a popular enough series.
And I think the final boss was already revealed anyways.

Haha, did that Ghosts and Goblins guy lose his armor the first time he got hit? (Like in the original game). He looks kinda cool; has a lot of ranged attacks, though he might be on the slow side.
What I think is really awesome is that the Bionic Commando is in this... although I wonder if he would fit my playing style. Probably, given some practice. That is pretty sweet, though; I loved the original Bionic Commando. Hope is original costume is like a hidden costume or something. Not that the last game had anything like that, did it? Just different colors. Anyhoo...

Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds - Are you ready, True Believers?
Okay, this is a little late, but I've got a bunch of info
And on top of that the Collector's Edition have been announced. It's have fancy packaging, and collectibles added. But it also have vouchers for the first two DLC characters, Jill and Shuma Gorath.
On top of that it looks like we've got a solid idea on the nearly complete roster thanks to an inside source. Yes, yes, I know a lot of these "leaks" are made for lulz and trolling, but this seems to be a high chance to be real. A couple weeks ago someone claimed to have an inside source knowing the complete roster. And that Jill and Shuma would be DLC characters. And well, fast forward to now, and he was spot on with Jill and Shuma being DLC! His roster was as such, i've spoiled it in case anyone hates finding out about game info ahead of time:
SPOILER!!:
Eh, I'll just post it again for fun, but it's for the last time.
Marvel
Galactus (Boss)
Taskmaster (unlock)
Shuma-Gorath (DLC)
She-Hulk
Deadpool
Captain America
X-23
Magneto
Modok
Hulk
Spider-Man
Dr. Doom
Sentinel
Storm
Phoenix/Dark Phoenix
Super Skrull
Thor
Dormammu
Wolverine
Iron Man
Capcom
Amaterasu
Ryu
Rad Spencer
Chun Li
C. Viper
Hsien-ko
Jill (DLC)
Chris
Wesker
Dante
Trish
Arthur
Felicia
Morrigan
Viewtiful Joe
Tron Bonne
Mike Haggar
Akuma (unlock)
Zero
And this leaker also shared a few details on the yet-to-be-revealed characters
"Phoenix is like Gill from SF3, when her Super Gauge is full when Ko'd she'll revive as Dark Phoenix"
Taskmaster info:
- He can shoot his arrows straight upwards, and can fall down, think Magikina Mina of Samurai Spirits fame.
- He uses his shield to do reversals like Gouken.
- TM is sorta like Seth in that he has variations of other characters' moves as normals such as Spidey's webswing and Captain America's charging star.
Mike Haggar
- Shares some of Zangief's moves but only to an extent as he is still very much his own character
- HP has him using a lead pipe
- Super 1 - Punches with one arm over and over again, think Cracker Jack in SFEX
- Level 3 Super - Final Haggar Buster (his version of FAB), ends with piledriver which results in different camera angles on the last frame, think when you beat someone with a super in Star Gladiator
C. Viper
- She has EX moves that take metre, done by using the Exchange button to do the moves
- She has a Focus Attack, which may have potential for assist traps
Note this leaker has said it's entirely possible that their source didn;t know this roster as the complete roster. There could still be more reveals.
Another fairly reliable "inside" guy named Henaki has said the Eepisode 3 trailer will feature "Lei-Lei (Hsien-Ko) and Strider Hiryuu teaming up to fight a silver hooded friend of Deadpool (Taskmaster)"
So as far a rumored and leak lists go, THESE are the ones to bet on. Time will tell.

This was the one medium outside the comics where Cyclops seemed like a badass, still. Also a little disappointed that Punisher definitely won't be in, although we've got Deadpool, so that's good enough for me.

Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds - Are you ready, True Believers?
Well first of all Capcom insider Kensk said that Nitsuma's Darkstalker deconfirmation should be "re-read" again. He later insisted Hsien-Ko, Taskmaster, and Haggar were surefire bets.
I take these deconfirmations (actually dis-confirm is the proper word but deconfirmed just rolls of the tongue better) with a grain of salt because if someone asked if they were in the game, why would Nitsuma say they were? He'd want to keep it a surprise, wouldn't he? Unless there was an actual explanation behind it like Ghost Rider and his bike, or the F4 being replaced by Super Skrull.
And it seems like new characters WILL be added for DLC. I imagine a lot of TvC and MvC2 conversions would be the likely candidates.

I am upset that there isn't going to be Strider, he was the best in MVC2 imo because he had sooo many abilities lol. Gambit is an upset too but whatever, they are trying to change it up.

Well, we'll see if we'll get Strider or not. Because if the fans DEMAND IT SO MUCH, it may be possible to have him put in. So make a facebook petition page or something.
And like Cain said, I think it is best to take this list with a grain of salt. So in the end, we'll see if anyone else makes it in as DLC or what have you.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 was part of my top ten all time games, but after all these years of no sequel, now it might be bumped down with the likes of Deadpool, Thor and Wesker. I can't wait, this game is gonna be real SICK!:woot:
