Re: Last game you finished
Bioshock was my last one. Bioshock is one awesome game, but I found the last boss pretty underwhelming. The ending was great too, even though I did get the bad ending. Now starting on Bioshock 2, but there is definitely something missing that the first one had.

Re: Last game you finished
Botanicula - hands down the coolest cutesy art semi-puzzle game. I found myself cheering with the characters as obstacles were beaten and jamming out with them as the music livened up. I'm not much amused by puzzle games but this was entertaining. Awesome drawings, awesome music.

Final Fantasy IX
Just finished my third (?) playthrough. Maybe fourth. I forget. One of those. I actually defeated Ozma this time around. Took damn near 15 tries, but I got him. Still love that game. Although, I'm kind of back and forth on whether this or FFVII is better.
I'm now on FFIV (PSP version). Up to the point where I pull a Niel Armstrong for the first time. After this is finished, I plan on finally playing and completing FFI and II for the PSP. I still haven't beaten either game.

Re: Last game you finished
I recently just finished my 34th Playthrough of Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter, Just in case you didnt know, Its basically an Dungeon RPG which just you can play on forever and forever and it just gets harder each time.
The games difficulty, Is pretty damn hard, Nearly impossible to beat it on your first run, You techniquely have to restart the game over, Carrying on your equipment and items you stocked for the next Save, Maybe also repent the mistakes you've made in the first run.
But right now, Im gonna finish Final Fantasy IX which i not to long ago bought out for a good price, And i love the game, Just gotta find time to finish it.

FFVI won out, and Chrono Trigger went to the backburner for some reason, along with FFV. I found FFIV and started it, just to see why it's so popular, and oh my goodness. It has its ups and downs like any other game, but it really shines. I absolutely loved it. Edward is my favourite character by far.
Almost like playing through FFVII for the first time; I can see why both of them are so insanely popular.

Re: Last game you finished
Diablo 3
Great gameplay
Lots of nostalgia placed within the story and game
I was disappointed by the lack of stat control. Its more like WoW, less like Diablo.
Skill Tree usage was a definite improvement, but still felt like it had a heavy WoW influence as well.
Story felt rushed, especially the end. It kinda slowly progresses then its just BAM. You get this huge rush on the last act with tons of major events happening. I didn't like it.
Nor did I like the ending very much. At the end, I just had the feeling, "Thats it?", but I'm expecting a expansion. Diablo II did a very good job of building the suspense and leading into the ending. It even left it open for an expansion, which I guess could be a preference. Some like it vague, but I like it to build to it.

The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb
The only reason I had to put this in here was that this is one wicked-awesome indie game. Think of ...the original Legend of Zelda meets the old testament/gore fest. The game is normally $5 on Steam and today they released additional content for $2.99 titled "Wrath of the Lamb" which added a lot of new content.
Each game lasts about 40-60 minutes. Tons of replay value with numerous characters to unlock, challenges, achievements, and 199 different items to collect. Each item changes your character's appearance; here's a screenshot of my 1st play-through on the new content, thought it looked hilarious. The normal default is in the brown for comparison.

As you can see the layout is almost identical to the NES Zelda dungeons and if you are an old-school fan like me, you're going to love this game:drool::p
Yeah, that's a fetus attached to his head.

Re: Last game you finished
I just finished FFVIII for the second time. I love this game so much. I love the junctioning, I love winning the card games and I love drawing cool spells and GFs and I love mugging enemies (not in real life, that'd be illegal). The first time I won the game, I did not stick around to see that cut scene at the ultra end Srsly, it's my favorite FF of all time!
This time around I won the game without using Squall. I have Rinoa, Zell and Selphie, who was 'accidentally' not junctioned, so it was a real pain knocking the stuffing from that sorceress with just Zell's limit break. I also managed to defeat Ultima Weapon this time, as well as Omega Weapon, so I've fulfilled all prerequisites - except for one. I couldn't win the Queens of cards side quest. what a major bummer. And after all that trouble, too. Maybe I'll revisit it later? :p

Re: Last game you finished
After taking a short brake from Final Fantasy IV the Complete Collection I finally managed to beat the After Years part of the game. It was enjoyable up to the point when I was bombarded with every boss from original Final Fantasy IV, it felt unnecessary, like Square was running out of ideas. Overall, it's a good game, the story and new characters are surprisingly good, although I wish the new characters were involved a lot more. There was certain amount of mystery to it, revealing the final boss and his agenda felt satisfying, also, to my surprise all the important characters that ended up being dead stayed dead this time.

Kingdom Hearts: I just love writing about things I hate. I shall post a review of this one! Yeah!

Re: Last game you finished
Gears Of War 3 is my latest. Loved the game, and would happily play it again. Although, now I have finally bought Gears 1 & 2, I will probably play the trilogy.
Next up is going to be Dragon Age: Origins I think though. Finally going to get through my first actual playthrough. My others have ended up being an absolute disaster when arranging the Landsmeet.

Re: Last game you finished
Castlevania from the original NES, WOOT. After 20 long years I finally figured out how to beat it. One of the hardest series for the NES for sure.

Re: Last game you finished
The last game i finished all the way to the end was Mass Effect 3. Im working through atleast a dozen games but I have a habit of getting bored with them lately and loosing interest half way through. the stories just dont seem absorbing enough to hold my attention for longer than 3-4 hours. Modern games seem solely focused on you shotting as many bullets in tweny minutes as humanly possible :blowtop:
Obviously im exagerating here i mean there are still a few gems out there with good stories don't get me wrong, it just seems like every title i see shoved in my face when i visit a game store is all about the guns and explosions and cheap twenty minute thrills.

Re: Last game you finished
Just beat Assassins Creed: Revelations for the second time. Figured I would go through it for kicks. Great of course gotta love the Assassins Creed series.
Currently I am playing Kingdoms of Amalur pretty good thus far.
-
Re: Last game you finished
Finally...FINALLY beat FF IV on the psp. Even if it's an easier version, that Lunar Core was still a pain. Random enemies were like freaking mini-bosses. Doubt I would have had the patience to go through it on the DS version, unless I wanted to level grind forever.

Re: Last game you finished
KuruKuru Kururin - got this game along with GameBoy Micro I bought recently, it's surprisingly fun and addictive. I managed to beat it in one sitting, it took me roughly 2-3 hours to do so. Short, but challenging, last few levels are brutal even on easy. It has really catchy music, feels like mixture of Pokemon and Super Mario Land music. Definitely one of those hidden gems.

Re: Last game you finished
Beat Mass Effect 3 today. Then played through the last segment again because I'm stupid and didn't realize I was picking an ending the first time I played.
I was pretty impressed with the entire game. It's extremely emotional. There was at least one part that annoyed me as far as choices go, but other than that one part, I was extremely satisfied with the final installment to this series. Extended Cut probably helped a lot though (fyi, I am informed that you should definitely get Extended Cut if you play this.) Thinking about going back through for another run of ME2 and then ME3 again. This time I'm buying the comic thing for ME1 so I can make the decisions I want to. Anyhoo...

Re: Last game you finished
Like Tele, I also just recently beat Mass Effect 3; I think it was last weekend. I'm not gonna lie, I loved the ending... even before I downloaded the extended cuts. I didn't feel cheated at all, and I was happy that I got to do things my way. Granted, I wish that my choices had MORE to do with the overall outcome, but I was happy.
I'll probably just replay the last part to see if my own personal choices will have any changes in the new ending scene. I watched the three online, and I love how they're more fleshed out, but some of the things that happened, or rather characters present weren't necessarily present in my game. *cough*Kaiden*cough*
Now I'm splitting time between Halo Anniversary Edition and FFXIII

Re: Last game you finished
FFXIII, not as bad as I thought it would be. Pretty fun. Might even go back for some missions.
-
Re: Last game you finished
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for 3DS was the last game I beat. Before that it was Skyrim. OoT is one of my favorite games, I actually may restart because posting about it makes me want to play it. I've got my hands full with Demon's Souls though, I'm not gonna start anything else until I finish my first play through on that.
Anywho, OoT for the third or fourth time? I played it obsessively on my N64 and then on Gamecube, and now it's the DS' turn. ;)

Re: Last game you finished
Resident Evil Survivor - not really favorite among Resi fans, it's considered to be the worst game in the Resident Evil series, I on the other hand like it a lot. It certainly has better atmosphere than newer games in the series. According to the game it took me little bit over two hours to beat it which simply can't be true, I recall playing a lot more than two measly hours.
-
Re: Last game you finished
Mass Effect 3, again. This time though, I finished it on Insanity and got the rest of the achievements I needed. Insanity was hard, but nearly as hard as what ME2 is. The part I really struggled on was the very last combat part.
Also got to see what the new Extended Cut adds. I thought the ending was a lot better than it used to be (even though I was one of the few that liked the previous ending).

Re: Last game you finished
The last games I have finished are the following:
Mega Man X7 - Beat it with X and the final boss was a royal pain. Had to use two characters to take down Sigma.
Mega Man X - I beat this one 45 minutes of playing it getting every power up except the hadoken fireball.
-
Re: Last game you finished
I've finished a couple recently - Theatrhythm FF which has it's own thread so I won't go into too much detail about and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. I love R&C games and I'd not got around to the PS3 titles so I'm slowly working my way through, with A Quest for Booty being midway through.
-
Re: Last game you finished
I went all oldskool, pulled out the N64 and beat Ocarina of Time.
In 3 days.
So sad.
-
Re: Last game you finished
I've finally beaten Assassins Creed II. The game has it's flaws, the story drags unnecessary at certain points and battles can be hectic to say the least, it's still one of the best games I played not just recently, but overall. There's huge amount of content to distract you from the main story, the story itself has interesting points, I'm guessing I'll have to play Brotherhood to get even better gist of it, although not yet.

Re: Last game you finished
last game i beat was the legend of zelda majoras mask on the N64. it took me FOREVER to beat though, cuz i always got stuck in the game but finally beat it with my awesome purple controller. :3

Re: Last game you finished
The last game that I finished was Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. It was only my second playthrough of the game. I have finished the story, but most of the rampages, hidden items, and whatnot are still out there for me to find. I only have finished three rampages, and found twenty hidden items and three (maybe four) of the jumps. I prefer the story of LCS to San Andreas and The Ballad of Gay Tony, though the stories in those are great as well.

Re: Last game you finished
The Whitcher 2 epic game, totally refreshing to find a game that is mature and lives up to its 18 rating in every way and not ashamed by it
