JRPG News Post JRPG Update: P5 Teased, Neptunia Apps, Bravely Default #1 in Japan and more

In an effort to try get more of the smaller pieces of news out more timely, I'm going to try and make some group postings for many different games as individually they are very small tidbits of news. Any of the games talked about in the post are naturally open for discussion.

Starting out at the top several JRPG launched or recently launched in Japan. Three new JRPGs made it into the top 10 sales for Japan this week. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy starts it out released on the 3DS reaching more than 140k units sold, following up in third is Project X Zone for the 3DS, a crossover game from dozens of different properties, breaking 80k units sold, and Tokitowa finishes at #5 with more than 30k units sold for the PS3. Other recent RPGs, Sol Trigger for the PSP, added another 10k units to their total for 50k and FFIII for the PSP got an extra 5k to almost hit 75k units so far.

Big news for Atlus and Persona fans, Persona 5 continues to be confirmed in development by the series director Katsura Hashino. He has nothing more to say about the game yet, previous news said that the game is being made on an internal game engine Atlus made.

Tecmo Koei has given a release window for Atelier Ayesha in the EU regions of Q1 of 2013. This is probably fiscal Q1, meaning it would be Spring roughly, which would fall in at about the same time Atelier Meruru was released this year.

The God and Fate Revolution NIS 20th Anniversary game has been delayed from December to January 24, no reason for the delay was given.

Neptunia fans may wish they were in Japan as Compile will be releasing apps for iOS and Android. There is a card game released for both phones. Where the players can collect and do battle with more than 300 cards. And special to the iOS, they are releasing a Neptune personal assistant. The app will act as a clock, alarm and schedule. It uses the Live 2D engine to bring the 2D images to life. The app is free, but additional content is charged. Noire is also available and owners of the app can improve the friendship level between you and your assistant to have her say different things to you. NISA also says that they are working an English version of this app, so English users might get to enjoy Nep-Nep telling you to wake up sometime in the future.

And last, Namco Bandai showed off some DLC costumes for Tales of Xillia 2, which for anime fans they should enjoy. See if you can spot the anime!
