What ever happened to it? I remember when DoTA and CS were full of polite lads who honoured the opposition's skill. Now its all filled with kids screaming at each other and using caps lock, not only when they die, but when they perform cheap kills camping with a sniper rifle just to taunt their defeated. I would consider myself a humble gamer. Would you?
This guy is an example of the 'new generation' (warning, lots of swearing.)

Reason: warning for profanity , just in case.
First off, I have never heard so many profanities in so short a time. After the first four minutes, I had my face in my palm, thinking who in the world taught this kid these words.
I thought it was funny that for a video game, the guy was out of breath after seven minutes. Then, the last few seconds of him coughing up a lung were the best 5 seconds of the entire video. He was breathing and hacking like a smoker of 30 years or something similar.
Anyway, the behavior of the guy is uncalled for. This is a game for crying out loud! It is nothing to get so worked up about. I felt that this person must have nothing else to be passionate about. I may become frustrated with a difficult portion of a game, but my temper has never flared to a verbal assault of that calibur.
So, I guess I would be classified as a "humble gamer".

So funny! Wish I had this much of a blast playing games. He switches modes in a split second. He sounds normal one moment and then like Rita Repulsa the next. That's some serious skill...
"YES TEAMWORK! ****ING TEAMWORK!" Heartwarming.
Don't see what's wrong with this so long as I can mute him in the long term to avoid ear damage, though I don't play competitive games too much. I do like celebrating when I win at something though. Not at that level, but man, who doesn't like winning and gloating a bit among friends.

I have never played dota or CS when is was so called "polite" people. Ever since DOTA (not all stars) was created on Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, it had nothing but assholes. CS with polite players? lol you dreaming?

This ^. I mean scrims and people playing inhouse games are one thing, where everyone knows each other and everyone is either polite or just bantering each other playfully, but in any other case, I've rarely had a game in dota/hon/lol where at least one person was hard-raging at something going on in-game.

Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.

I'll have to agree with both Rowan and Loaf on this one, I have huge experience as far as Counter Strike goes, one thing I can say for sure, Counter Strike servers were always full of assholes, though not nearly as what's seen today in games such as Halo or Modern Warfare. I remember one instance where I got several insulting messages from my own teammates for not defusing the bomb on time even though I took out by far most men that round.
Out of all games I played online, I have most pleasant experience with original Unreal Tournament. And yes, I was a humble gamer, I say was because honestly I don't remember the last time I played something online.
My brother was playing Resident Evil 5 online once and he wasn't very advanced, as far as weapons go, so he would die easier than the guy he was playing with. After my brother died once or twice on the game, the guy started getting all PO'd, screaming "YOU ****IN' SUCK!!!" Like really screaming it at the top of his lungs like a freaking psycho. Then, my brother started dying purposely just to piss him off even more and the guy was just losing it. Two reasons I don't play online: 1) People like that, and 2) people online usually seem to be these hardcore game nerds that seem to know every little thing about the game and are always all good at it, TOO good. Forget that.
I'm a humble gamer. I play for the fun of the game, and I see no fun in being an ass over bragging rights and/or ruining the fun for everyone else. It's probably why I stay away from most multiplayer games, especially the popular franchises of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and the like. People take the games too seriously, and it's usually the loud mouth kids who think they have something to prove.
I don't think I've every really experienced any online trouble with others. Some French dudes gave me crap once in Red Dead Redemption one night because I was playing as a female on "their" server, and if that's as far as it goes for me, then it's cool. I usually have a good time on the few games I do play, like Uncharted 3 at the moment - I've had a good few laughs on there; bumped into an "inept brit" who, when talking to a friend in the game, exclaimed how "sexy" his trousers were. Same guy became a friend by the end of the night after I'd kamikaze'd him a few times with a shield (you could hear him on the mic going "Ahh! She got me again!").
"I used to be active here like you, then I took an arrow in the knee."

That video was both highly amusing and completely terrifying. Almost like I just witnessed an insane case of gaming Turrets. XD I would definitely consider myself a 'humble gamer', I'll admit I've screamed at my television and even my DS when I did something I didn't want to do. However, I have never screamed quite like that, not even remotely close..
@rocky and loaf- believe it or not, for me there was a time where games were played in such a way that raging was not necessary. Dota become far too reliant on teamwork and strategy in its more advanced stages hitch gave people reason to get shitty at their teammates for not listening to their commands. Cs was also the same. But I guess the people I use to game with we're. Different to your average Internet joe. I believe that things have definitely got worse as gaming evolved. Call of duty is a prime example. Battlefield 3 is great, hardly any rage newbs there.
I think the closest thing I've ever done to this is say 'erase' as I killed somebody. I spoke it, didn't shout it. I think a lot of anime fans can appreciate that. The main difference between me and him is I did it for my own amusement. I certainly dont tear into people or die in a fit of expletives. I've had my moments when a person kills me again and again and I've got them back. It's normally a simple 'BOOM!!'... Just to make my point.
I suppose I would consider myself humble as a gamer. Ive played wow, MW, Halo, battlefield, gears, Runescape and a tonne of other competative games without exploding into uncontrolled rage. After seeing this guy I feel tame. These people put me off certain online games.
