Guitar Hero 3 - Wii - Fret button (red) not working

Got really into this game since christmas day, myself and my girlfriend have been playing it almost non-stop. It worked last time it was used, then I brought it home and plugged it into my own tv, and for some reason the red button stopped working.

I tried resetting the wii as there is sometimes problems with a button being held down during the power up. no deal. i tried taking off and re-attaching the neck of the guitar, no deal.

Other people have been taking theirs apart and fiddling with components but im not sure i want to do this, if i could just return it.

Anyone had similar experiences?

I have no problems with any of the colored buttons on the neck of the guitar controller, but I do sometimes have problems with my whammy bar. It just won't register that I'm using it. It's extremely frustrating when you are in a guitar battle and when you get the whammy and you can't play any notes until you hit it. If it's not working properly, you miss so many notes and you wind up losing the battle... Gets really frustrating, especially against Lou...

This has never happened to me, I avoid excessive hitting or mashing of buttons for this reason. If it is doing it then there is something wrong with it, don't do it yourself unless you know exactly what you are doing. Take it to GameStop and tell them, the worker's up there will fix it no problem.

The guitar designed for the Wii and GH3 is flawed, massively. A large number of people have fret buttons going bad.

On mine, the green one works intermittently. I doubt there's a serious fix for it, if you're able to return it, I'd do it. If you aren't, you'll have to buy a new one.

I also had my whammy bar break about 3 days into owning it, and recently fixed it with a rubber band. I've since sold my Wii, Wii Fit/Balance Board, and GH3 Game+Controller amongst others.
