I would usually say Final Fantasy IX, but I've recently beaten Chrono Trigger and it was simply fantastic, superb story, characters, music and excellent sidequests, besides you yourself chose Chrono Trigger on your ow poll so that's worth something.
I would however avoid Final Fantasy V, in my experience by far the worst game in main series.

Personally I love Final Fantasy VIII and have been meaning to start another playthrough of that for a while now, so I voted for that. I've never played Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI, but I hear they're fantastic. The first Dino Crisis and all of original Resident Evil games are always great too though. I would steer clear of Dino Crisis 2 though, it's absolutely horrible, and from what I hear Dino Crisis 3 is also a dud.
I suggest you play all of them at the same time. This normally involves borrowing your friend's systems and televisions/handhelds, lots of concentration, and an empty bladder. Then you could film your feat and post it on YouTube and getting tens of views.
What I would do is start at the beginning of the list with Final Fantasy I, and eventually playing them all. So, I pick FFI.
Or, if you are still having trouble deciding, get a bunch of girls to kick you in the nuts. Then, however many kicks it takes to make you drop/pass out/require medical attention will be your answer. Five kicks = FFVI, seven kicks = FFIX

I second Chrono trigger, fantastic all around, and its pretty short so you can get crackin on FFIX soon after![]()
I actually just started playing FFIX again with my wife again, so I am voting for that one.

I would say start with Chrono Trigger first. You'll have a lot of fun with that game and you have access to the best ATB system in the Snes rpg era. Then you should play FFVI for its amazing story and gameplay, and then FFV for the awesome Job/Ability system.
FFV is not as bad as people make it out to be.

Though I'm always pushing VIII, it might not be the quickest (or easiest) game... (drawing is proven to be addictive). Especially if you've only got a weekend. In your case I'd advise on Chrono Trigger (its music echoes back to me from my youth).
