Nippon Ichi Software announced Disgaea 4 for PS3 in Japan with their president dressed as a penguin at TGS. That's "how serious we are," he said.

This new entry "holds the fate of our company" said NIS, and revealed details about Disgaea 4. It's set in hell and we need build our own political cabinet.

Ludicrous right? Good because NIS have promised "stupidity to the MAX" with Disgaea 4. It's a hardcore SRPG with comedy. "I'd love to have questionable politicians play this game," joked the studio president.

Aside from network features you will be able to invade the worlds of other players, and vice versa of course. The main focus will be a return to the more traditional art roots of the series as set out by Takehito Harada's original concepts.

"Wow, that must have cost a lot," laughed NIS. Disgaea 4 releases exclusively on PS3 in Japan February 24th, with a US date to follow afterwards. See the TGS trailer below.
Haha, I've been playing Demon's Souls lately and that stood out to me. x3

Anyway, the video looks really pleasing to me. I love all those new features, especially with all the characters in a rope and things. It seems to get more creative each time. I still haven't played Disgaea 3 yet, but I will soon. And I'm definitely going to get Disgaea 4 when it comes out next summer. I'm not too crazy about DLC if it has lots, though; the ones that are characters I want to unlock in-game instead, I don't really want.

Either way, it looks rather promising to me. The political theme may not be so tempting, but the humor they plan to have that has stupidity to the MAX seems interesting, to say the least. =p I'm wanting more character designs, though, so I'll keep updated.
