Atlus Re-Release Devil Summoner Series

Atlus announced today that they'll be reprinting and releasing the PS2 games Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon. These will be actual PS2 copies for retail sale, not digital PSN PS2 classics versions. They are setting the suggested price at $29.99 for each game.

That is cool stuff. I assume this will include all territories. I checked the prices on amazon to see how much these rare games cost. First one is on sale for 29.99. Devil Summoner 2 is selling for some $53.

I would like to pick them up but I have a huge backlog and other games I need/will purchase.

I bought Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga from work for £7.99, and it was on a PS2 buy one, get one free deal. It was still sealed. We just got a random box full of PS2 games one delivery, and I raided the shit out of it. I thought it was rare, but turns out it wasn't part of the Devil Summoner series (I confused the two). It's a lot of money here too, at £55-£200. =(

It means you'd still need a working PS2, or a 60GB PS3... which is sad. There's so many games that are being made into HD versions or collections lately, I thought this was one. Still, pretty decent that PS2 games can still be reprinted. Would be awesome if one day consoles could go back into production too, but that will never happen (or not soon, anyway).
