    Virus/Worm

    There are a couple of people-Violet and Polk-saying they can't access parts of the forums because of a virus/worm. Violet says she can't access the main index, the technical assistance section, or the New Members section, and that this has been going on for about a week. They both use Avast, I think.

    I saw that someone brought something similar up in another thread, but I also saw that Fuzz thought he had fixed it. Violet is still experiencing the problem, though. Anyhoo...

    That has happened to me too. I actually had to uninstall my virus software to get onto the forums at all. Although someone did tell me that the matter has been addressed,i'm not sure it has though.

    It has. It's a false positive. I changed my AV to Avira and I get no alerts at all.
    And when I disabled the web shield in avast to browse certain parts of the forum, I scanned for said virus/worm.

    And I got nothing. So it's a false positive.

    Hellfire: You know, you could've just posted in the existing thread. >_>;

    Y'know, that thread was marked as answered, and I figured this was a different issue, seeing as that was about a trojan, and this was a virus/worm I will tell Violet about what you did when I talk to her again, though, and see if that helps. Thankee.

    EDIT: You're right. Didn't see that one.

    hmmmmm, thanks for sharing this. Sorry for the trouble. I am uncertain if this is a legit or a false positive at this point. I did another look and couldn't' find anything? I did some searching on Google and a lot of other RPG/FF/WoW sites had a similar issue... appears to be related to the ads - if so, it isn't a big deal and should be fixed by the 3rd party usually very quick.

    I will keep you posted, thanks
